have been produced with more to follow. The English Chess Company© has commissioned the finest craftsmen from the Indian city of
Amritsar, the city of the golden temple, where chess sets have been carved for hundreds of years. English Chess Company© pieces are
available in the finest Ebony or Bud Rosewood and look superb in the deluxe fitted coffer – see page 8.
All English Chess Company sets include a certificate of authenticity, complete with craftsmen’s seal, making them sets to treasure.

The craftsmen have combined traditional and
contemporary elements into a unique and beautiful set.
The knight’s mane and head collar are the most
stunning features, intricately hand carved while the
other pieces have a more rounded edge. £ 299

ALEXANDRE 1860 CHESSMEN

These exquisite chessmen are hand carved by master
artisans and crafted out of the highest grade Bud
Rosewood and Boxwood. The design is based on one
that was popular in the late 19th century. The pieces,
especially the Knight, have a sleek, stylish look and a
comfortable feel. £ 299

ELITE STAUNTON CHESSMEN

A luxury wooden set hand carved to the highest
standards. Note the intricate design of the King’s crown
and the exquisite Knight’s head and mane. The carving of
all the major pieces is astonishingly detailed, for example
the Bishop’s mitre is deep set and the Queen’s coronet
finely carved to produce an angular effect. £ 299

A truly majestic set. The Knight has a unique design
with downward sloping head, weaved mane, flared
nostrils and icy stare make it the most spectacular
chess piece in the English Chess Company collection.
The other pieces are also beautifully sculpted with

ANTIQUED WARRIOR CHESSMEN

The term "Antiqued" describes the process applied to the
boxwood pieces resulting in the appearance of an aged
set, preferred by many collectors and serious chess players
alike. There is something about the patina of the set that
is most appealing to the eye. The dark pieces are
constructed using only the finest jet black Ebony. £ 399
