NEW FRITZ 13 (RRP £44.95)£40!
Chess Software
Fritz 13 is now even stronger and faster than before, whilst retaining the
same cool features – plus many enhancements – that have made it the
most sought-after chess software for players of all strengths and abilities.
Whether you are a beginner, club player or professional – Fritz has everything
you could want including: automatically adjusting playing strength,
coaching functions, explanation of positions, game analysis and a database
of over 1.5 million games! Used by the world’s greatest players, including
Garry Kasparov redesigned Fritz interface gives you instant access to all the
most important functions. This means more comfort and clearer controls.
Never before has it been so easy and fast to play with Fritz.
“Let’s Check” is the revolutionary new feature of Fritz 13. With it users can join
a worldwide community that will put together a giant knowledge base for
chess. Whenever you analyse a position to any meaningful depth Fritz 13 will, if you allow it, send the main line and evaluation to a central server, to be shared by all
participating users. Soon you will be able to find deep analysis to almost every position you look at – instantly, pre-generated by the finest engines in the world, running
on the most powerful machines around. Gone are the days of waiting hours for Fritz to reach substantial enough depth in order to test an opening novelty. “Let’s Check”
keeps updating the evaluations to any given position with newer, deeper analysis as it becomes available. Using powerful machines and the latest engines allows you to
“conquer” positions, with your name attached to the newest, deepest analysis. You can also add comments to your analysis, which other users will see when they
encounter the position. Even if you are not a great openings expert you can become one using “Let’s Check”. The entire body of modern openings theory is built into the
system, and “Let’s Check” provides you instantly with the latest statistics of any position in the opening: how often it occurs, which moves were played and with what
success. The openings book (LiveBook) is updated on a weekly basis and will show you which variations are currently topical and how good they are.
Naturally Fritz 13 continues to offer chess players everything they need to study and train: professional board graphics, engine management, adjustable playing
strength, coach functions, move explanation, automatic game analysis and commentary, training modules for openings, tactics and endgames, professional
printing of games and diagrams, a database of 1.5 million games and hours of Fritz Media video samples. And the icing on the cake: six months free premium
membership to the world’s largest chess server: Playchess.com. Premium Membership to Playchess enables you to listen to audio commentary during major events,
RYBKA 4 (PC-DVD) £44.95
DEEP FRITZ 13 (for multi-core PCs is due out in April 2012 )£TBA
System Requirements: What will you need to run Fritz 13? According to Chessbase the minimum is:
Pentium III 1 GHz, 512 MB RAM, Windows 7/Vista or XP (with Service Pack 3 installed), DVD-ROM drive The recommended
set-up is: PC Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4 GHz, 3 GB RAM, Windows Vista or Windows 7, DVD-ROM drive.
Please note an internet connection is required to complete the installation of this product.
Rybka 4 is the world’s strongest chess program having won the 2008 World Computer
Championship and leading all ranking lists by over 100 elo points, but strength is not
everything! Today the main use of chess software is analysis and Rybka’s analysis features
coupled with its awesome playing strength make it the number one choice for the serious
chess player. Using an earlier version of the Fritz interface Rybka introduces several
ground-breaking new analysis features:
Monte Carlo Analysis yields precise evaluations by playing thousands of ultra-fast games
in a few minutes from any given position. This is much like using game result statistics,
something human players do when choosing their opening variations. Monte Carlo
Analysis can be used in any position, but generally it's most useful in endgames and
positions with sacrificial possibilities. Engines often give high scores to drawn endgames,
Monte Carlo recognises fortresses and other no-progress situations, giving a much more accurate assessment of a position than other engines. It is also useful in positions where
one side has made a material sacrifice for slow compensation (i.e. not just for combinative reasons). Sampled Search gives information about the search process,
showing scores and alternative variations from the main line. This is helpful when the program searches for a long time in one position, allowing the user to see how the
engine is thinking and making its decisions. Singular Moves are annotated graphically. This indicates situations where only one clearly best move exists. Look For Win is
used whenever you feel that there should be a forced win in a position you can explicitly ask for it. Rybka then searches for a decisive move, considerably faster than in
normal analysis. Persistent Hash Rybka can save its hash tables between analysis sessions to preserve valuable information already accumulated in the search tree.
DEEP RYBKA 4 £89.95 (PC-DVD) is the multiprocessor version of Rybka 4. The program will run on a PC which has multiple processors/multiple cores, harnessing the
machine’s additional hardware to speed up the program’s chess calculation. Running on an Intel Core 2 duo system, Deep Rybka 4 will calculate at roughly twice the rate of a
single-processor system. This is particularly useful when analysing a large numbers of positions, researching new moves in an opening variation, or analysing a single position
in detail with a number of candidate moves. Deep Rybka is at least 50 points stronger than its single-processor counterpart running on the same hardware.
Fritz Powerbooks 2011(DVD) £44.95 Rybka Book (CD) £24.95 Endgame Turbo 3 (DVD) £44.95
Fritz Powerbooks can be used by
both Fritz and Rybka and is designed
to enhance their opening repertoire
or to study opening lines from.
Contains over 30 million opening
positions, derived from over 1.5
million quality games. The source
games are also included so you can
see how the games continued from
any position! Discover new lines to revamp your repertoire
and then practice them against your Chess program.
The same format as the Powerbooks
(see left), Rybka Book was
developed to maximise Rybka’s
playing strength. The choice of
opening lines has been
matched to the style of the
program. The value of the book
lies in its original analysis and
move choices, which has led to
a re-evaluation of certain lines in modern theory,
all of which have never been published before.
Consists of 9 DVDs of endgame
databases allowing your chess
program to play all five-piece
and most six-piece endgames
perfectly. Likewise, it will handle
endgames with more than six
pieces much better since the
program can access this
endgame knowledge during its
analysis. A must-have for correspondence players,
endgame theoreticians and fans of engine matches.
