16 Chess Clocks
Traditional Chess Clocks
Analogue clocks are the traditional method used to time
chess matches and have remained more or less
unchanged since their introduction over 120 years ago.
With their combination of simplicity, accuracy and
old-world charm it is easy to see why they remain popular
with chess players around the globe. Batteries are not
needed (except with the Master Quartz Timer) as analogue
timers are powered by a wind-up mechanism! Pressing the
button down on your side stops your clock and starts that
of your opponent. A flag will fall at the exact moment a
player’s time has expired. However, they are less accurate
than digital timers and are unable to implement advanced
time controls such as increment and time delay.
THE TURNIER RANGE All our Turnier clocks have the same reliable precision mechanisms and come
with a 1-year guarantee. Each clock is distinguished by its casing, varying from the durable Standard Turnier, to the
elegant wooden clocks. Discounts are available when buying quantities of 5 or more. Dimensions: 15 x 8 x 3cm.
Digital Chess Clocks
If accuracy is what you need then look no
further than our broad range of Digital Chess
Timers. All our digital clocks are accurate to within a second per hour and with the most extensive
selection in the UK we’re sure to have something to suit you. Digital chess clocks have the advantage over
the traditional analogue clock as they are able to handle a wider range of time controls such as as time
delay and increment. Digital clocks are perfect for serious matches at clubs and tournaments or for the
casual game at home. However, they really show their worth in blitz games and time-scrambles, where
knowing exactly how much time you have remaining can make all the difference! As they don’t function on
a wind-up system like analogue clocks they need batteries, although a set of 2 AA batteries can last an
incredible eight years (based on a usage of 4
hours per week).
