FOREWORD 

The dynamic nature of the industry pertaining to the non-ferrous metals produced in South Africa necessitated revision of 

this, the thirteenth edition of the directory, which was first published in 1986. 

Listed information includes contact details of the primary producers, secondary producers, semi manufacturers, chemical 

producers as well as marketing agents of the various non-ferrous metal commodities. Also included are the e-mail and 

website addresses of those companies that are connected. Moreover, flow diagrams of some individual commodities are 

included. 

The assistance of industry (once again) in the compilation of the directory is acknowledged. It is hoped that this directory 

will prove useful to the producers, marketers and consumers of South Africa’s non-ferrous base metal commodities and 

assist in the promotion of this country’s mineral industry and trade. Any comments or information that could lead to an 

improvement in this directory are welcomed.
