EUROINVENT <strong>2012</strong><br />

Member States in improving quality and safety of care. WHO<br />

Surgical Safety Checklist, as safety tool, has been shown to<br />

reduce surgical morbidity and mortality all over the world in<br />

high resource settings countries. But it was never use in low<br />

income settings countries like the Republic of Moldova.<br />

NSPCEM study team elaborated the methodology of<br />

implementation of WHO Safe Surgery Checklist in the settings<br />

of operation theatre of the Republic of Moldova that fits local<br />

available human and economic resource, ethic and management<br />

features.Local team added one new compartment to WHO Safe<br />

Surgery Checklist and new one item, proposed an innovative<br />

method to share the duties between surgical team members on<br />

completing of the Checklist.Due to proposed measures WHO<br />

Safe Surgery Checklist was successfully implemented in the<br />

settings of the operation theatre of the Republic of Moldova..<br />
