From Bauhaus to <strong>in</strong>novation workshop.<br />
The design ethos of Bauhaus, namely that the form of an<br />
object should be determ<strong>in</strong>ed by its functionality, rema<strong>in</strong>s<br />
alive <strong>in</strong> <strong>Lamy</strong> design. The LAMY 2000, which caused a<br />
sensation when it was <strong>in</strong>troduced back <strong>in</strong> 1966, made it<br />
clear as the first founta<strong>in</strong> pen of the modern era what this<br />
means. The LAMY 2000 was not <strong>in</strong>tended as a status<br />
symbol but simply as an honest, well-designed precision<br />
tool for writ<strong>in</strong>g by hand.<br />
Each new <strong>Lamy</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>strument cont<strong>in</strong>ues to be produced<br />
accord<strong>in</strong>g to this ambitious concept today.<br />
Follow<strong>in</strong>g the pr<strong>in</strong>ciple of functional design it is created<br />
by a renowned product designer and made ready for the<br />
market <strong>in</strong> the Innovation Workshop, <strong>Lamy</strong>’s development<br />
department, to please all those who are enthusiastic about<br />
modern technology and who enjoy good design.
