Our Grass Valley EDIUS ® edit stations are superb standalone craft editors.
They are also a perfect complement to our tapeless production solution, which
touches the entire production process, from acquisition, ingest, and media
browsing to nonlinear editing, craft editing, and automated playout. And they
support our Infinity series of products for EFP and ENG tasks.
Each EDIUS edit station is designed to support the real-time editing of all popular
high and standard-definition (HD and SD) formats including Canopus ® HQ,
Canopus Lossless, DV, DVCAM, HDV, DVCPRO, MPEG-2, and uncompressed video
while also supporting emerging file-based formats such as Infinity JPEG 2000*,
P2, VariCam, and XDCAM.
EDIUS SDI – Analog, Digital SD
The EDIUS SDI edit station is a cost-effective solution for facilities that only require
standard-definition (SD) SDI connectivity. With SDI video, balanced audio, RS-422
device control and SD and HD component outputs, the EDIUS SDI edit station
supports any analog or digital SD production workflow.
And it’s ideal for editing Infinity JPEG 2000*-, XDCAM-, P2-, XDCAM HD-, and P2
HD-based materials as these formats rely upon file-based ingest.
The EDIUS SDI edit station is configurable with one or two 20- or 24-inch LCD
monitors (optional) and comes with a keyboard, mouse, internal storage, and an
external 19-inch breakout box—everything you need to get up and running.
Format-Independent Craft Editing
The heart of the EDIUS SDI platform, like that of each EDIUS edit station, is a
combination of high performance hardware and nonlinear editing software. This
combination provides a true, real-time WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get)
editing experience—one that’s perfect for advanced craft editing involving multiple
formats, layers, camera shots, and complex nested sequences.
With an EDIUS SDI system, you can mix SD and HD assets in the same timeline,
making it perfect for documentaries, commercials, interstitials, and other complex
or long-form craft-editing projects, regardless of the source or output format.

* As real-time playback performance depends on a system’s specification, an EDIUS SDI
system may not be able to perform real-time playback of a project created on a higher-end
EDIUS edit station.
