3 Operation<br />
The diagnostics screen, which you will access automatically after starting<br />
up the program enables you to check the perfect working order of the<br />
device before programming the coin validator using the presented basic<br />
and I/O data.<br />
In the diagnostics screen, the type of the coin validator recognized by the<br />
program is displayed below the menu bar.<br />
The left column displays the so-called basic data for this coin validator:<br />
• Device/serial number (compare label of the coin validator), date all<br />
default values were programmed, date the last adjustment was made to<br />
the device data and EPROM number (software version) of the device<br />
• Status of the checksum (RAM or EEPROM) (OK/defective)<br />
If the checksum is defective, the coin validator will not accept any<br />
coins. The device must be repaired by a service technician.<br />
• Number of the active data block 0 or 1, depending on the position of the<br />
DIL switch (only for devices with two data blocks)<br />
