WinEMP – G-13.mft Perform tests National Rejectors, Inc. GmbH, Buxtehude PREPARATION Two basic requirements for the functionality of the G-13.mft are reliable signal lines between the machine (tester) and the G-13.mft as well as a perfectly functioning acceptance gate. WinEMP enables you to test these equipment parts. Test signal lines (only for parallel interface) Signal lines can only be checked, if the coin validator is supplied with power by the NRI testers G-19.0594/G-19.0651 or G-19.0645/ G-19.0650. To test the external inhibit signal lines between the vending machine (tester) and the G-13.mft in validator operation or the reset and common inhibit signal line between the vending machine (tester) and the G-13.mft in totalizer operation, select menu item TESTS in the main menu and then LINE TEST. While the status display is displaying the message LINES ARE BEING CHECKED – PLEASE WAIT, the function of the external signal lines is checked automatically. On the tester, the LEDs assigned to the signal lines light up briefly. If an LED does not light up, either the connection between the G-13.mft and the vending machine (tester) is defective (cable, plug-in connections) or a coin validator component is defective. In this case, please contact the service technician. Test acceptance gate To test the acceptance gate of the G-13.mft, please select menu item TESTS in the main menu and then GATE TEST. While the status display is displaying the message GATES ARE BEING CHECKED – PLEASE WAIT, the function of the acceptance gate is checked automatically. You can hear the solenoid being activated and released again. If you can’t hear a noise, the module must be checked. 29

The right-hand column of the screen provides information about the status<br />

of the most important functions of the G-13.mft:<br />

• OPERATING VOLTAGE<br />

• Status of the RETURN<br />

SIGNAL:<br />

INACTIVE (no signal)/<br />

ACTIVE (signal, when<br />

return lever is pressed)<br />

• Status of the COMMON<br />

INHIBIT SIGNAL (only<br />

parallel interface):<br />

INACTIVE (no signal)/<br />

ACTIVE (signal from tester/vending machine)<br />

• Status of the external INDIVIDUAL INHIBIT SIGNALS (only parallel validator<br />

operation):<br />

_ = not inhibited by tester/vending machine<br />

DIGIT of the line = inhibited by tester/vending machine<br />

• Number of coin CHANNEL, which accepted the coin inserted LAST<br />

• Status/functionality of accepted coin sensors (CP3/CP4 SIGNAL):<br />

INACTIVE – Sensor in the standby state and not covered<br />

ACTIVE – Sensor covered e.g. by coin pile-up or faulty<br />

(remove objects in front of the sensor or have the sensor<br />

replaced by the service technician)<br />

• PRICES set using switching blocks on the rear of the G-13.mft (only 1-/<br />

2-price totalizer operation)<br />

• TIMER period and corresponding price set using switching blocks on<br />

the rear of the G-13.mft (only timer operation)<br />

• Price set for one game and BONUS levels set using switching blocks on<br />

the rear of the G-13.mft (only TV totalizer operation)<br />

• DIL SWITCH positions of the switching blocks on the rear of the<br />

G-13.mft:<br />

_ = OFF/DIGIT = ON<br />

(Please refer to separate G-13.mft instructions for function of the DIL<br />

switches)<br />

• Status/functionality of light barriers (LS1/LS2 SENSOR):<br />

OK – Sensor in the standby state and not covered<br />

ERR – Sensor covered, e.g., by coin pile-up or defective<br />

(remove objects in front of the sensor or have the sensor<br />

replaced by a service technician)<br />

• ERROR MESSAGE (for error remedy see Chap. 13 "Status and error<br />

massages")<br />

<strong>WinEMP</strong> registers any state changes (e.g. caused by coin insertion<br />

or switching a DIL switch) and displays these changes on the screen<br />

so that you can then test the above-mentioned functions of the coin<br />

validator.<br />
