• WinEMP version too old for device environment
1 Abort loading operation via EXIT.
2 Download new WinEMP version from the NRI homepage
(see section "Install new version of the WinEMP software" in
Chap. 12 "WinEMP update").
3 Start WinEMP again.
• Wrong serial interface activated
1 Click menu item EXTRA.
2 Select correct COM PORT (see section "Select COM port" in
this chapter).
If the device environment has been correctly connected, but WinEMP is still
unable to establish connection with the device, the device environment may
be connected to a PC interface (COM 1...9) that is not identical to the one
selected in the program.
To select a different COM port:
1 On the loading screen, select the menu item EXTRA.
A pull-down menu will then open in which there is a tick next to the
activated interface.
2 From this menu, select the correct COM PORT.
The pull-down menu then closes again. Since a restart is necessary,
you will then go directly to an info box, where you can exit the
program.
3 Confirm the security query with OK.
WinEMP is then exited.
4 Restart WinEMP
(see section "Start WinEMP" in this chapter).
