Programming the Control Panel <strong>Premier</strong> <strong>48</strong>, <strong>88</strong>, <strong>168</strong> & <strong>640</strong> <strong>Installation</strong> <strong>Manual</strong><br />

The system has the following UDL download options:<br />

Download Call Back Number 1<br />

This is the telephone number that is dialled by the modem<br />

when ‘Call-back Number 1’ is requested by the remote UDL<br />

computer. This telephone number can be up to 24 digits.<br />

Download Call Back Number 2<br />

This is the telephone number that is dialled by the modem<br />

when ‘Call-back Number 2’ is requested by the remote UDL<br />

computer. This telephone number can be up to 24 digits.<br />

Download Call Back Number 3<br />

This is the telephone number that is dialled by the modem<br />

when ‘Call-back Number 3’ is requested by the remote UDL<br />

computer. This telephone number can be up to 24 digits.<br />

UDL Password is:<br />

When the remote downloading computer dials into the system,<br />

the control panel compares the UDL password sent by the<br />

computer with UDL password stored in the control panel. If the<br />

passwords match, access to the control panel is granted, if<br />

they don’t match, access is denied.<br />

If more than three attempts at reporting are made with<br />

a wrong password, the modem will lock out for 4 hours<br />

or until a Master User code is entered.<br />

The UDL password programmed in this option must<br />

also be programmed in the customer account on the<br />

remote downloading computer. This password can be<br />

up to 16 characters (numbers and letters).<br />

If no UDL Password has been programmed, access to<br />

the control panel can be gained by using the engineers<br />

code as the UDL Password.<br />

UDL Options<br />

There are 6 UDL options that affect how and when access to<br />

the control panel via the Wintex UDL software is allowed.<br />

Select options by pressing keys 1 to 6 (a letter on the display<br />

means the option is selected, a Dot on the display means the<br />

option is not selected).<br />

The following UDL options are available:<br />

A - DL Attended<br />

The system will not allow the remote downloading computer<br />

access without user authorisation first.<br />

M - Man Call-Back<br />

The system will not use the automatic call back feature. The<br />

user must instruct the panel to call back the remote<br />

downloading computer.<br />

The Auto Call-Back feature operates as follows:<br />

• The remote downloading computer calls the control<br />

panel and establishes a connection<br />

• The UDL password is verified and the remote<br />

downloading computer instructs the panel to call it<br />

back using one of the 3 call back numbers<br />

• The panel hangs up and dials the requested number<br />

and re-establishes the connection with the remote<br />

downloading computer<br />

D - Call Defeat<br />

The modem will answer incoming calls as follows:<br />

• The modem must detect one or more rings and the<br />

number of rings must NOT exceed the value set up in<br />

‘Rings Required’<br />

• When the ringing stops, the panel will start a 30<br />

second delay timer<br />

• If the modem detects ringing before the timer expires<br />

it will answer the call immediately<br />

L - Armed DL Limited<br />

The panel will not allow download access when the system is<br />

armed (also see below).<br />

A - Any Area Armed<br />

The panel will not allow download access when any areas are<br />

armed.<br />

K - Online RKP = Off<br />

The control panel cannot be accessed using the ‘On-line’<br />

keypad feature of the Wintex UDL software.<br />

Rings Required<br />

This counter controls the number of rings the modem needs<br />

to see before it will answer the call (Default = 003).<br />

UDL Dial Attempt<br />

If a ‘Call-Back’ is started, this option controls how many times<br />

the modem will try to call the remote downloading computer<br />

before giving up (Default = 003).<br />

<br />

Enter the number of dialling attempts. This number is<br />

limited to 9. If this value is set to 0, the communicator will<br />

never dial out.<br />

This only affects the modem for download access and<br />

does not affect the operation of the communicator in<br />

any way.
