Artan Minarolli Festival Prizes / µÚ·‚›·
Minarolli graduated from the University of Tirana with a degree in Fine Arts (specialising in acting) in 1982,
ten years later he graduated in directing film first from the Albafilm Studio, Tirana and the following year
from the European Film Academy in Denmark. He worked first as an actor and theatre director, moving into
film in the mid-eighties at the Albafilm Studio in Tirana, as an assistant director on 8 films. In 1991 he directed
his first film, a documentary, For a Centimetre. Minarolli moved into drama with a short feature, 100%,
and followed that with the recent feature film The Moonless Night, which is a co-production between Albania
and France. In addition to his film work, he published his short novels in 1997, under the title The Corpse of
a Telephone and in 1998 organised the Eurofilm Festival in Tirana.

Art Film sh.p.k. was established by Artan Minarolli in 1997 in Tirana; the main objectives of the company are:
the production and distribution of feature and short films, documentaries, animation, publicity and commercials,
and other audio visual programes in Albania. It also organises other cinematographic activities, artistic
and audio visual works, including the Eurofilm Festival in Tirana. Art Film sh.p.k. produced the feature The
Moonless Night, with the financial support of the Albanian Film Center, Fond D`Sud in France and with the
participation of the Hubert Bals Fund in International Film Festival of Rotterdam.
