Maurie Cross Band Oct. 3 & 4<br />

The News-Sentinel, Oct. 2, <strong>1936</strong><br />

Maurie Cross and his orchestra will be featured at the Colonial<br />

Hotel, Lake Manitou, on Saturday and Sunday evenings, Oct. 3 and 4.<br />

This band which comes here from Dayton, Ohio, needs no ntroduction<br />

to the dance goers in this section of the state as it has played previous<br />

engagements at Manitou. - - - -The Dick Barrie band which has been<br />

playing at the Colonial since Labor Day will close their season here<br />

tonight and leave for Dayton where they have several weeks booking at<br />

one of the leading hotels in that city.<br />

SIAMESE TWINS<br />

Ride Train on One Ticket<br />

The News-Sentinel, Oct. 3, <strong>1936</strong><br />

Keokuk, Ia., Oct. 3. - Conductor George Kinning of the<br />

Burlington railroad adds Siamese twins to the woes of railroading.<br />

Bound from St. Louis to St. Paul the twins tendered only one<br />

ticket to Conductor Kinning. Puzzled he telegraphed the passenger<br />

agent at St. Louis for instructions and received this reply:<br />

If unable to collect extra fare make no attempt to put one of<br />

them off the train.<br />

FENSTERMAKER REUNION<br />

Z.W. Fenstermaker Home<br />

The News-Sentinel, Oct. 7, <strong>1936</strong><br />

The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the late<br />

John and Mary Fenstermaker gathered at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Z.W.<br />

Fenstermaker and daughter, Daisy, Sunday, at Argos, Ind. All were<br />

present but Mr. & Mrs. Ivan Fenstermaker and his family of Niles,<br />

Michigan. The only remaining aunt of the family was also present,<br />

Mrs. Lill Lynch of Chicago.<br />

Others who were present were Mr. & Mrs. Benton Fenstermaker<br />

and son, Marion, of Jonesboro, Mr. & Mrs. John Geyer and Mrs Lill<br />

Lynch of Chicago, Mr. & Mrs. Ora Horn of near Talma, Mr. & Mrs.<br />

Robert Horn and daughter, Peggy Jo, of Akron, Mr. & Mrs. Harley<br />

Zolman and daughters, Annabelle Lee and Donna Jo, of Rochester, Mr.<br />

& Mrs. Vance Fenstermaker and niece, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Jeffries and<br />

children, Mary Marcille, Keith and Barbara, and Mr. & Mrs. Z.W.<br />

Fenstermaker and daughter, Daisy, all of Argos.<br />
