MACY TO HAVE TAX LEVY<br />

First Time in 3 Years<br />

The News-Sentinel, Sept 4, <strong>1936</strong><br />

Citizens of Macy will pay a town tax levy in 1937 for the first<br />

time in three years, a rate of 60 cents being proposed for the coming<br />

year to raise $1,395, whch with a balance of $450, will provide a total<br />

budget of $1,845 for the coming year.<br />

At the end of 1933 the town had sufficient funds to meet<br />

expenses for three years without further taxation.<br />

HOLMAN HOME<br />

Bought by Capt. O.I. Minter<br />

A real estate transaction was concluded recently whereby Mrs.<br />

John Holman has sold her home, 300 West Ninth street, to Capt. & Mrs.<br />

O.I Minter, who have returned to <strong>Fulton</strong> county to make their residence<br />

after many years absence.<br />

Capt. Minter is the son of Mr. & Mrs. William Minter, deceased,<br />

who lived at Lake Nyona and Mrs. Minter is the daughter of Mr. &<br />

Mrs. S.N Shesler of Akron and is a sister of Mrs. A. Adams of this city.<br />

Capt. Minter is retiring from the Army after 37 years of active<br />

service in the United States and its possessions. He served in the World<br />

War with several <strong>Fulton</strong> county men.<br />

KINDIG REUNION<br />

The twenty-third annual Kindig reunion was held at the<br />

Rochester City Park Saturday, September 5. After a very delicious<br />

dinner was served to fifty-one people, a short business session resulted<br />

in the following officers being elected: President, W.E. Kindig of Peru;<br />

vice-president, Forrest Fennimore of Decatur; secretary-treasurer, Mrs.<br />

Oral Kindig. Two births were reported, a daughter to Mr. & Mrs. Lee<br />

Peter, and a daughter to Mr & Mrs. Reynold Gerard. Three deaths,<br />

Mrs. W.L. Nichols of Rochester, Betty Jo, daughter of Donald and<br />

Emma Marburger of Indianapolis, and Barbara Lou, daughter of Mr. &<br />

Mrs. Roscoe Hatch of Macy. Three new members were welcomed into<br />

the family circle, Mrs. Roland Fennimore, Mrs. Floyd Kindig and Mrs.<br />

Cleon Kindig. Relatives were present from Alabama, Noblesville,<br />

Decatur, Peru, South Bend, Macy and Rochester.<br />
