ST. JOHNS LUTHERAN CHURCH<br />

New Building Being Constructed<br />

The News-Sentinel, July 30, <strong>1940</strong><br />

Construction of a new St. Johns Lutheran church building was<br />

started several days ago at the (SW) corner of Fourth and Jefferson<br />

streets by the Fansler Construction Co. of Rochester. The new church<br />

is to be 27 feet wide, 69 feet long and will have a seating capacity of<br />

200 and cost approximately $15,000. Mr. J. Adam Fichter, Ft. Wayne,<br />

who for many years has been the Synodical architect for the Lutheran<br />

church, drew the plans, and the building will be 100% architecturally<br />

Lutheran. Local labor as well as local supplies will be used in the<br />

construction. It is to be a solid brick building of buff color and will be<br />

completed in 100 working days.- - - - -<br />

FELTUS, CATHERINE<br />

To Visit Bloomington<br />

Bloomington, Ind., July 30. - Catherine Feltus, Bloomington,<br />

starlet, will come here Wednesday afternoon for a visit with her father,<br />

Roy Feltus.<br />

Miss Feltus, under the professional name of Catherine Craig,<br />

appears in one of the leading roles in a new Hollywooid film entitled<br />

Doomed to Die. Grant Withers and Boris Karloff also are featured.<br />

- - - - - Hollywood columnists have reported her engaged to Robert<br />

Preston, rising young film star.<br />

BAKER REUNION<br />

Rochester City Park<br />

The annual Baker reunion was held Sunday at the City Park.<br />

Relatives from <strong>Fulton</strong> who attended were: Mrs. Mary Zartman, William<br />

Baker, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Zabst and son, Max, Mr. & Mrs. Oral<br />

Clevenger, Mr. & Mrs. Voris Zartman and son Cloyd, and Mr. & Mrs.<br />

Wayne Zartman.<br />
