of 9th and Monroe streets with Phil Hartung as his assistant. - - - -<br />

The News-Sentinel, Feb. 6, <strong>1940</strong><br />

Sixteen neighbors met Monday morning at the home of Wilbur<br />

Evans, 3-1/2 miles north on road 31, and sawed wood for Mr. Evans,<br />

due to illness in the family.<br />

The News-Sentinel, Feb. 7, <strong>1940</strong><br />

Mr. & Mrs. Delbert Jordan of Delong took over the management<br />

of the Regal Store in <strong>Fulton</strong>, Monday. The store has been operated for<br />

some time by Mr. & Mrs. Frank Austin of Burlington. Mr. & Mrs.<br />

Jordan formerly owned and operated a store in Delong.<br />

Open Tractor-Truck Service<br />

The News-Sentinel, Feb. 13, <strong>1940</strong><br />

Clay & Crowel today announced they had taken on the sales and<br />

service of Minneapolis-Moline tractors and farm implements at their<br />

garage at 1419 Main street. They will feature a full line of tractors also<br />

power and horse-drawn farm machines as a supplementary service to<br />

their truck and tractor service. - - - - -<br />

NEIGHBORS HELPED<br />

Garrett Ginn<br />

The News-Sentinel, Feb. 13, <strong>1940</strong><br />

A number of the neighbors of Garrett Ginn who resides on a farm<br />

near Athens several days ago hauled 12 tons of loose hay with their<br />

teams and wagons for Mr. Ginn. The hay was hauled from the farm of<br />

Robert Burns to that of Mr. Ginn. Mr. Ginn received a fractured limb<br />

February 2 when a wagon load of hay he was driving from the Burns<br />

barn turned over. Ginn is now in Woodlawn Hospital.<br />
