ARGOS SHOE REPAIR SHOP<br />

Fairmount Meiser of Kewanna this week purchased a shoe repair<br />

business at Argos and the building which houses the enterprise. Meiser<br />

has taken possession and will operate the shop.<br />

MUSIC MACHINE AGENCY<br />

The latest addition to the business field is that of an automatic<br />

phonograph and amusement machine distributing agency, which was<br />

established around the first of the year by Carl Thacker.<br />

Mr. Thacker, who for several years operated a restaurant in<br />

Akron, has established a clientele of amusement mahine patrons<br />

throuout northern Indiana and plans to make this city his permanent<br />

headquarters.<br />

Mr. & Mrs. Thacker, who have two children, recently purchased<br />

the Clyde Beatty home, 716 <strong>Fulton</strong> avenue, and have already taken up<br />

their residency in this city.<br />

Now Named Standard Food Market<br />

Harold Day, manager of Standard Packing Corporations Market<br />

here has announced a change in the name of the store to Standard Food<br />

Market. The store was known as the Regal Market.<br />

Boyd Peterson, Dist. Manager<br />

The News-Sentinel, Jan. 13, <strong>1940</strong><br />

Boyd Peterson has been named district manager of the State<br />

Farm Insurance Companies, after having served 15 years as local agent<br />

and adjuster. He now will be assisted by William H. Gray, Tom<br />

Marshall, Devern Brubaker and John Shanley, of Kewanna.<br />

Mr. Peterson will supervise organization work in six northcentral<br />

Indiana counties, and will maintain his office here.<br />
