The Flying Behees Featured<br />

The Flying Behees, composed of Clayton and Rose Behees and<br />

Ralph Swihart, featured perch act in the Cole Brothers circus, were<br />

honored this week by having their pictures appear on the cover of the<br />

Billboard, well known amusement weekly.<br />

COLONIAL HOTEL<br />

Three Orchestras Booked<br />

Three nationally famous dance orchestras have been booked for<br />

one night dance engagements at the New Colonial Hotel and Terrace<br />

Gardens on Lake Manitou. They are Jack Teagarden, Charles (Buddy)<br />

Rogers, and Blue Baron.<br />

The world famous trombonist, Jack Teagarden, and his orchestra<br />

will play their one night stand this Thursday, July 27th, and will be<br />

followed by Buddy Rogers and his orchesta for a one nighter on<br />

Wednesday, August 2nd. Blue Baron and his orchestra are booked for<br />

Saturday, August 12th.<br />

Teagardens engagement will mark Indianas first opprtunity to<br />

hear the fine dance organization of the ex-Paul Whiteman trombonist,<br />

who is currently creating a sensation among patrons of one of<br />

Chicagos leading nighteries.<br />

Buddy Rogers stand on August 2nd will mark the first time in<br />

more than a year that he has appeared before dancers here in the<br />

midwest. Appearing with this orchestra are Marjorie Whitney and the<br />

Four Notes. Miss Whitney will be remembered in Rochester as the<br />

attractive brunett who was featured with the Kings Jesters as their<br />

Queen.<br />

Rudy Bundy and his NBC orchestra continue to please Colonial<br />

patrons for whom they play nightly at the open air dance garden.<br />

One of the biggest land auction sales ever held in <strong>Fulton</strong> county<br />

is scheduled for Saturday, July 29, at 10 a.m. on the Otto McMahan<br />

farm, two miles west of Rochester, at which time 1280 acres will be<br />

offered for sale. - - - - -<br />
