Closed Because Bldg. Sold<br />

The Harding Cafe at 610 Main Street was closed today by the<br />

owners as the building which houses the same has been sold to Harry<br />

Hogue, owner of a dairy bearing his name. The Harding sisters may<br />

reopen their cafe at another location some time in the fall.<br />

SMITH REUNION<br />

George Smith Park, Lake Bruce<br />

The twenty-third annual reunion of the Smith family was held<br />

last Sunday at the George Smith Park, Lake Bruce, Indiana, with about<br />

125 present. Daniel Smith, the only surviving member of the original<br />

Smith family and now in his 90th year was present and enjoyed the day.<br />

Members of the family were present from Kankakee, Ill., Detroit,<br />

Mich., Louisville, Ky., and South Bend, Logansport, Newcastle, Fort<br />

Wayne, Winamac, Star City, Kewanna and Rochester<br />

Officers elected for the ensuing year were as follows: Walter<br />

Dederich of Logansport, president; Henry A. Smith, Loganspor, vicepresident,<br />

and Harry W. Wilson of Rochester, secy-treas. The<br />

Sadowsky and Wilson families from Rochester were present.<br />

EASTERDAY REUNION<br />

Bill Easterday Home, Marshtown<br />

The 17th annual Easterday family reunion was held at the home<br />

in Marshtown of Mr. & Mrs. Bill Easterday, Sunday. One hundred<br />

persons enjoyed the community dinner at the noon hour, after which a<br />

business meeting was held and the following officers were elected:<br />

Floyd Kindig, of Rochester, president; Frank Buckingham, of <strong>Fulton</strong>,<br />

vice-president; and Mrs. Clarence Reed, of <strong>Fulton</strong>, secretary-treasurer.<br />

Following a short program, the remainder of the afternoon was spent<br />

socially with ice cream being served at four oclock. The 1938 reunion<br />

will be held at the home of Mrs. Phelba King near Akron.<br />
