Stars Reflecting Excellence International President Jane Miller’s Address to the 2010 Regional Conferences It is my sincere pleasure to be with you as we are sharing “Reflections of Excellence” in the seven regions of Alpha Delta Kappa, and tonight we share reflections from the stars. Many individuals have stars named for them. Some of you may be able to set the axis of your telescope and at a specific alignment, view your star. I would like to name a star for each member of Alpha Delta Kappa, and then when I gaze into a star-studded sky, I could reflect on your endearing qualities. One of my favorite quotes is, “good friends are like stars—you don’t always see them, but you know they are there.” This awareness prevails among Alpha Delta Kappa members. Vincent van Gogh once stated, “For my part I know nothing with certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream. When we ponder the stars, when we reach for our dreams, we are never bothered by how far away they seem. Instead, we are inspired by the beauty of our vision. Dreams are like stars— brilliant and permanent.” Stellar “Reflections of Excellence” have been observed Ø Gulf Regional Conference Altruistic Chairman Caroline Rademacher, left, presents a $5,500 check to conference altruistic project Conine Clubhouse, as Clubhouse Manager Kristin Cornell and International Vice President, Gulf Region Edwina Aaron, right, joyfully react.
