Trip description: CSIRO’s Queensland Centre for Advanced Technology is a technology precinct for
the resources, energy and associated advanced technology industries. The trip will
highlight the Virtual Mining Centre, CSIRO’s low emissions coal research focussed
on coal gasification and syngas separation technologies, a demonstration on non-
GPS dependant autonomous vehicles, advanced borehole logging research, and an
overview of CSIRO coal research including coal characterisation, preparation, mine
safety and optimisation research.
