SUNDAY:
We welcome to our parish today the Little Sisters
of the Poor are visiting our parish this weekend. The
Sisters are totally dedicated to the service of the
aged poor. They turn to you so that, through your
generosity, they can continue to serve the Elderly in
a home where they are surrounded with love,
respect, peace and security until their death. The
Sisters will say a few words about their work and will
be collecting at the exits of the church after each
Mass for the benefit of the Elderly of Queen of
Peace Residence in Queens Village.
The second collection today is designated to assist
our parish in paying the 2010 Diocesan
Assessment. Our assigned goal is $44,500 and to
date we have paid $32,772. We thank you for your
understanding and generosity.
MONDAY:
Mass and Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous
Medal at 7:00PM.
SATURDAY:
We invite everyone to participate in the monthly
Night Vigil which begins with the 7:00PM Mass and
ends at 10:45PM.
NEXT SUNDAY:

Witamy w naszej parafii dzisiaj Siostry zakonne, które
opiekują się ludźmi starszymi i chorymi. Siostry te
pracują w Domu Opieki Społecznej Królowej Pokoju na
Queens. Poświęcają się one całkowicie starszymi i
biednymi ludźmi. Zwracają się one z prośbą o pomoc
finansową, aby dalej mogły realizować swoje
powołanie. W czasie każdej Mszy św. Po Komunii Św.
Siostry opowiedzą o swojej pracy. Niech nasza ofiara
złożona przy wyjściu z kościoła będzie symbolem
naszej miłości do potrzebującego człowieka.
Dzisiejsza druga składka jest przeznaczona na
pomoc w zapłaceniu 44 tysięcy dolarów na doroczny
podatek diecezjalny na rok 2010. Dotychczas
zapłaciliśmy $32,772. Dziękujemy za zrozumienie i
ofiarność.

WIADOMOŚCI PRO-LIFE
CZERWIEC/LIPIEC 2010
„ZA NAMI, PÓJDĄ INNI.......!”
Memorial Day, 31 Maja 2010, poniedziałek,
poświęcony pamięci poległych żołnierzy USA. W
tym też Dniu, po raz pierwszy, nasza parafia św.
Stanisława Kostki, uczciła pomordowanych przez
aborcję dzieci w naszej dzielnicy (Greenpoint/
Williamsburg). Zaraz, po mszy św o 9:00 rano, w
kierunku byłej kliniki aborcyjnej, z kościoła, udała się
Procesja Różańcowa. Nieśliśmy: zapalone znicze,
transparenty „ABORTION KILLS”, „STOP
ABORTION”. Poszczególne "dziesiątki” Różańca, w
marszu i już na miejscu, przeplataliśmy znanymi
sobie religijnymi pieśniami. Liczyliśmy na większy
udział partycypujących w mszy św. wiernych.
Tymczasem, zaprowadzającym nas ks. Józefem
Szpilskim i członkami Grupy Pro-Life, podążyła tylko
niewielka stosunkowo liczba osób (ok.30...).Niemniej
jednak, już sam fakt, zorganizowania Marszu za
Życiem, po raz pierwszy, należy uznać za Sukces.!!!
W kolejnych próbach, będzie nas zapewnie więcej i
więcej, w miarę budzenia się świadomości
Powszechnej Odpowiedzialności za Poczęte Życie.!
Dzisiaj, gdy nad światem zapadła Noc Kultury
Śmierci, jesteśmy w szczególny sposób powołani,
by dawać publiczne świadectwo swej Wiary,
Przekonań (bp.T.Daily)...!
Wtedy i tylko wtedy, nasza wiara będzie prawdziwa
i pełna.PRAWDA NAS WYZWOLI....ALE PRAWDA
MA TEŻ SWOJĄ CENĘ..! Mówił o tym też,
nawiązywał, ks.biskup Nycz podczas Mszy św.
Beatyfikacyjnej ks. Jerzego Popiełuszki (Wwa,06/06/2010),
w której to, miałem szczęście
partycypować. Ks. Jerzy, Patron, naszych, jakże
Trudnych Czasów Przełomu 20/21 Wieku, stanowi
dla nas, w tym względzie, niedościgły wzór do
naśladowania..!
Podejmując wyzwanie, wzmacniajmy szeregi
Obrońców Życia, w umasowieniu się Ruchu Pro-
Life, jest jego Zwycięstwo i nasze, też, Spełnienie....!

"OTHERS WILL FOLLOW US ....!"
Monday, May 31, 2010, Memorial Day, is
dedicated to the memory of American soldiers who
perished. On this day also, for the first time, our
parish honored the babies killed by abortion in our
neighborhood (Greenpoint/Williamsburg).
Immediately following the 9:00AM Mass a Rosary
Procession left the church to a former abortion clinic.
We carried candles and signs "ABORTION KILLS",
"STOP ABORTION". In between the decades of the
Rosary recited during the procession and at the
destination, we sang religious hymns. We were
counting on a more numerous participation of the
faithful in the Mass.
This time, with Father Joseph Szpilski in the
forefront followed by the members of the Pro-Life
Group, the group was very small, about 30 people.
However, the fact that for the first time there even
was a procession for Life, made it a success!!! I am
sure that in the future there will be more and more of
us as we become more aware of our responsibility to
the Unborn Child!!
Today, if we were faced with the Culture of Death,
we would be called in a special way to give public
witness of our Faith, Conviction (Bishop T. Daily).
Then, and only then, would our faith be real and the
complete TRUTH WILL SET US FREE but TRUTH
ALSO HAS ITS PRICE!! This topic was also
mentioned by Bishop Nycz during the Beatification
Mass of Fr. Jerzy Popiełuszko (Warsaw
06/06/2010), in which I had the opportunity to
participate. Fr. Jerzy, Patron of our difficult
situations in the 20/21 century, is for us a role model
to be copied. In accepting the challenge, let us
strengthen the rows of Crusaders for Life by joining
the Pro-Life Movement, it is his victory and our
accomplishment too !

10 Good Reasons To Go To Sunday Mass
Every summer we are reminded and
admonished by our priests that the
summer is not a vacation from Sunday
Mass, emphasizing that we should take
this into consideration while away on
vacation over weekends. And how do
we react to these reminders? In
different ways.
Personally, I do not have a problem with this, but I
read with interest an article titled "10 Good Reasons To
Go To Sunday Mass" in one of the bulletins issued by
a church I go to frequently.
I decided to share with you the thoughts and
suggestions of the writer during this "difficult" vacation
period.
1. God asks us to make one day holy. God asks us to set
aside one day per week to refocus physically, mentally,
and spiritually. We live in a secular world. Going to
Sunday Mass helps us to see everything from a different
perspective. We begin to see in the depths of our being
that God is in charge.
2. Jesus gives us the gift of Himself. When we go to
Sunday Mass, we are doing what Jesus commanded His
followers to do. It is a command of love, to love God and
others and to be loved by God. Jesus is present and
comes to us in the Word of God we hear proclaimed and
in His Real Presence, in the Blessed Sacrament.
3. We need to be part of a community. When we come
together at Sunday Mass to pray and worship God, we
satisfy a deep need, human and spiritual, to be in
communion with other people. The other parishioners
— even if we don't know all of them —give us support,
affirmation, and encouragement in our attempt to live the
Gospel message. They help us to see that we are not
alone in living our Catholic Faith.
4. God has a special message for us. When we listen to
the readings, the homily, and the prayers of the Mass,
God speaks to us in a special way. We should come
away from each Sunday Mass with at least one new
thought or inspiration that will have a positive impact in
our lives.
5. We need to talk to God. When we go to Mass, we
speak to God through our singing, our communal
responses and prayers, and our personal prayers from
the depths of our hearts.
During Mass we have the opportunity to ask God for
what we need, to promise God we will do what He wants
us to do, and thank God for the many blessings He has
bestowed on us.
6. People need our prayers. We can pray for other people
anytime, but when we pray for others during Mass, we
pray in a special way. It doesn't matter if the other people
are separated from us by distance or by death.
7. We need to stand up for what we believe. Being a
follower of Jesus is counter-cultural. At every Mass, we
have the opportunity to stand up and proclaim what we
believe publicly. We admit that we believe in one God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and in the teaching of the
Catholic Church.
8. We need to acknowledge that we make mistakes. At
every Mass, we have the opportunity to review the past
week. We admit that we have sinned in thought, in word,
in deed, in what we have done and what we have failed
to do. With God's help, we resolve to change our lives.
9. We need ritual in our lives. Mass is offered as a Sacred
Ritual. This means that through the familiar prayers, and
movements, through the Divine Miracle of
Transubstantiation, changing bread and wine into the
Body and Blood of Jesus, we are formed, disciplined, and
consoled. The "sameness" of the Mass supports and
nourishes our spiritual journey every week.
10. We need to experience something bigger than ourselves.
When we go to Mass, we share in the Suffering, Death
and Resurrection of Jesus. When we offer our ordinary
lives to God through Jesus, we enter into God's great
plan for the world's salvation. (Adapted from an article in
