VANCOUVER 2012 E-SPABC, ENHANCING PROFESSIONALISM WITHIN BC SUNDAY 12:30 P.M. ROOM 116 E-SPABC Estheticians and Spa Professionals Association BC (E-SPABC) has been formed to strengthen the industry by providing training, professional development and benefits to members in BC. The E-SPABC Board of Directors will provide an overview of the newly incorporated not-for-profit association. E-SPABC will describe how they can support the industry to deliver outstanding treatments, exceptional client service and enhance the industry’s reputation and professionalism. They will conduct an interactive session about the E-SPABC Code of Ethics and the many health, dental, insurance, business support and other benefits available to members. For more info visit www.e-spabc.com THE E-SPABC BOARD OF DIRECTORS Dee Lewis, President With a combined 21 years experience as a Certified Dental Assisting Instructor and Career Development Facilitator, Dee evolved into the spa industry in 2002. As a trained esthetician, she opened her own Spa in Salmon Arm, B. C. and became very involved in the profession and the industry. Having dedicated two years on the Personal Services Industry Human Resources Committee, Dee and others from the committee have realized the need for an Estheticians and Spa Professionals Association. Thus, the inception of E-SPABC. Lucy Griffith Lucy Griffith has gathered many years of experience as a spa director, lecturer, assessor, subject specialist and in curriculum design. Over the past 3 years, Lucy has been working to raise the professionalism of the skin and body care industry within BC and Canada. Lucy was invited to join the Personal Services Industry Committee that was formed through Service Canada’s Labour Market Partnerships (LMP) program to move forward into standardizing industry training across BC. Louise Dannhauer A graduate of the Blanche Macdonald Centre, Louise has worked with large spas in Vancouver and Whistler, training staff in body treatments, massage, hot stone massage, spa concept and menu writing. In 2001, Louise opened her own spa, Spa Time, which is successfully running 10 years later under her direction. Currently teaching at Vancouver Community College and running Spa Time, Louise is one of the founding members of E-SPABC. Nicola Finch Nicola brings to the board over 30 years experience in the industry. Originally from Vancouver, Nicola worked alongside her mother who owned two electrolysis/esthetics studios. Nicola moved to Kelowna where she has advanced the profession and owns a laser hair removal and skin care clinic. Nicola has also had the pleasure of teaching spa professionals and is proud to be a part of E-SPA BC. Madeleine Jones Madeleine takes great pride in being a founding member of the Association of Professional Electrologists of BC (TAPE BC), the Provincial Affiliate of the Federation of Canadian Electrolysis Associations (FCEA). She currently serves as a Certification Director for FCEA, and is an Honorary Director of the FCEA’s Board. In 1989, Madeleine co-founded the Canadian Electrolysis College Ltd., working as an educator until her retirement in 1991. Madeleine most recently served on the PSI committee and is proud to participate as a Director for the newly formed E-SPABC. E-SPABC 23 SPA-SHOW.COM
