The bird in the picture is a blue tit.
Favourite Food
Some birds eat seeds and berries. Some eat other
creatures like worms and insects. Others eat both.
Keeping Safe
Birds build their nests in places that are difficult for
animals like cats to reach.
Sounds
They talk to each other with their songs. Some
sounds are warning calls to other birds about a
danger (cat about).
They sing to find a mate and to say "This patch
is mine. Go and look for food somewhere else!"
Gardening For Birds
Grow a wide variety of plants which make berries,
seeds, fruits and homes for insects and small
creatures.
Put up nest boxes and enjoy watching them
bringing food & feeding the young chicks.
Try This
Hold up your clenched hand. Close your eyes and
listen to the birds singing. Count by popping
up a finger for each different kind
of bird song you hear.
