2 Additives for Coatings
2.1 Product range
Ceridust micropowders
The addition of Ceridust micropowders to lacquers and
coatings will lead to outstanding properties:
> Excellent slip and antiblocking behaviour
> High scratch resistance and insensitiveness against
metal marking
> Fast and easy processing of coated products
> Very good matting effects which bring about a high
quality coating, a velvety touch, and smooth handle
in wood lacquers
PE Waxes
The product range of pure PE waxes consists of polar
and non-polar types. They are delivered as flakes, grain
or powder and can be added to lacquers and liquid coatings
as dispersion or paste. Their incorporation can
show the following effects:
> Improved antisettling and antisagging
> A pronounced matting effect in wood lacquers
> Antisettling and orientation of aluminum and mica
pigments
In powder coatings PE waxes will have among other
things a positive influence on the flowability of the resin
melt and the grindability of the extruded powder coating
mixture.
Hostavin - light stabilizers
This product range comprises UV-absorbers as well as
hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS).

> Reduces cracking, blistering, chalking and subchalking
> Maintains adhesion and elasticity of coatings
Exolit - flame retardants

Hordaphos products
Certain Hordaphos products are suitables as curing
agents for the acid curing of synthetic resin-paints
based on urea-melamine-formaldehyde.
