1 Additives for Printing Inks
1.1 Product range
PE waxes
PE waxes can be added to printing inks as dispersion or
paste and will lead to many benefits:
> Improved rub and scratch resistance.
> Very good slip and antiblocking properties concerning
the printed products.
> No spraying, misting or plucking on the printing press.
> Reduction of the tack of paste inks.
Ceridust micronized powders
The use of Ceridust in printing manufacturing provides a
number of additional advantages:
> No heating of waxes and solvents.
> No evaporation of solvent, thus environmentally
friendly.
> Very good performance in the printing ink because of
an ideal particle size distribution.
Montan waxes
Montan waxes are used for the optimization of the rheological
behaviour of print pastes due to their superior
paste-forming properties.
Wax emulsions
Wax emulsions are very fine particle size dispersions of
waxes in water. Used in flexographic printing inks and
overprint varnishes they provide good antiblocking and
slip properties while not affecting the gloss and transparency.
Rub resistance of printing inks can be further
improved in combination with Ceridust 3715, Ceridust
3719 or Ceridust 3731.
Antistatic agents
Antistatic agents are suitable for reducing or preventing
electrostatic charge effects, such as the attraction of
dust or the scattering of ink during the printing process.
