3.5 Cosmenyl
These pigment preparations are readily pumpable and
flowable aqueous dispersions for the coloration of
cosmetic products (e.g. tooth paste, soap, or mascara),
laundry powders, finger paints and other consumer
products. The basic pigments of the preparations listed
below comply with the requirements for cosmetic colorants
defined by the European Union in the Cosmetic
Directive 76/768/EEC. This directive is valid for all countries
of the European Union, and it is used as guideline by many
other countries.

The directive defines an application field for each colorant.
1 allowed in all cosmetic products
2 allowed in all cosmetic products except those intended
to be applied in the vicinity of the eyes, in particular eye
make-up and eye make-up remover
3 allowed exclusively in cosmetic products intended not
to come into contact with the mucous membranes
4 allowed exclusively in cosmetic products intended to
come into contact only briefly with the skin
