3.3 Hostafine
These hydrophilic pigment preparations based on nonionic
dispersing and wetting agents are characterized by
ultrafine dispersion of the pigment. The extremely low
particle size distribution (no particle size fractions > 1
µm) gives very good gloss, transparency, viscosity and
sedimentation properties in aqueous systems.
The Hostafine grades are most suited to use in drawing
inks, fiber-tip pen inks, fineliner inks, roller ball inks, ink
jet inks, artists’ colors, glass paints, and emulsion based
shoe polishes. They are especially useful in highly

transparent wood stains.
The Hostafine grades can however also be recommended
for all other aqueous fields of application where
high standards of properties that depend on particle size
(e.g. transparency, gloss) are required.
The Colour Index data relate to the basic pigments. The
data given in the table may vary because these pigment
preparations are standardized in respect to tinctorial
strength.
