The Hostacopy grades are pigment preparations containing
40 % pigment in a typical polyester toner resin for
electrophotographic toner applications. These nondusting,
easy-to-disperse pigment preparations are available
as standard or tailormade products on request.

2.6.4 Charge Control Agents
Clariant’s Charge Control Agents (CCAs) are characterized
by high efficiency, quick charge up and longterm
charge stability. In addition, their charging effects are
not influenced by a change in environmental conditions
such as humidity, temperature, etc. They also exhibit
good thermal stability and are easy to disperse.
The Hostacopy grades are charge control agent predispersions
containing 40 % charge control agent in a
typical toner resin. These non-dusting, easy-to-disperse
charge control agent predispersions are available as
standard or tailormade products on requests.

2.6.5 Waxes
Clariant’s waxes for toner perform as release agents in
modern toners, but they are also designed as special
products for a more effective dispersion of CCAs and
pigments in the toner resin. Clariant offers a wide range
of waxes for classical toners, Clariant’s waxes are based
on special polypropylene systems and for new toners a
range of lower and sharper melting products is offered
(Tonerwax).
