3 Additives for Plastics 3.1 Product range for polymer additives, waxes and flame retardants Clariant stands for competence in research and development, for forward-looking technologies and products, for innovation and quality. Hostanox protect polymers from oxidative damage. They prevent discolouration, degradation and/or crosslinking e.g. of polyolefins during processing and ensure a long service life of the finished articles. Hostastat reduce electrostatic charging of polymers. They reduce or prevent undesired or dangerous effects of electrostatic charging such as dust attraction, static discharge or splashing of printing inks during printing. Hostavin / Nylostab provide maximum protection of polymers against photochemical degradation. Deterioration of mechanical and optical properties due to prolonged exposure to light is appreciably delayed. Licolub / Licowax / Licocene are internal and external lubricants which are characterized by their effectiveness. They thereby enable or facilitate the processing of thermoplastics and elastomers. Moreover they are well suited as carrier materials for pigment concentrates. Licomont Clariant supplies release agents, lubricants, nucleating agents, acid acceptors and coupling agents under the Licomont brand name. Ceridust are innovative, micronized waxes for pigment concentra- 100 tes based on various substances. The particle sizes are around 40 µm (d 50 value) and below. Exolit Clariant offers a wide range of non halogenated, phosphorus based flame retardants for various applications.
