In this model of corn production, on-farm soil emissions constitute 51 percent of overall emissions followed<br />

by production of inputs (27 percent), on farm energy use (14 percent) and transport of inputs (8<br />

percent).<br />

Our LCA calculated emissions from soybean production were based the following input data that<br />

reflect a USDA-calculated weighted average for input data from 20 states. 69 The average yield was 38<br />
