Concordance <strong>of</strong> rehearsal figures<br />

<strong>The</strong> present edition uses a modified version <strong>of</strong> the rehearsal figures used by UE 1969,<br />

UE 1996 and UE 2000 (see CHAPTERS 1 and 2). <strong>The</strong> following table lists these<br />

figures in the left-hand column. In order to facilitate comparison and orientation<br />

between this edition and three <strong>of</strong> the most important earlier <strong>sources</strong> for Jenůfa, these<br />

are listed against the equivalent figures used in ŠFS, KPU and UE 1917 (columns 2–<br />

4).<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are no rehearsal figures in ŠVS, hence its absence here: they were added<br />

to the vocal score at KPU pro<strong>of</strong> stage. For ŠFS, only the original set <strong>of</strong> rehearsal<br />

figures is given, as they apply to the 1904 version <strong>of</strong> the score; later sequences <strong>of</strong><br />

rehearsal numbers and letters added to ŠFS, replacing the original rehearsal figures,<br />

have been omitted.<br />
