vapo.protect ® technology*<br />

Evaporation in a PCR reaction vessel not only limits the ability<br />

to work with low reaction volumes but also makes it difficult to<br />

obtain reproducible results. For the Mastercycler pro it has been<br />

<strong>Eppendorf</strong>’s aim to protect the PCR reaction from evaporation.<br />

While common PCR instruments press a metal plate onto<br />

the PCR consumable, the vapo.protect lid covers the PCR<br />

consumable with a cushion that conforms to the shape of the<br />

consumable—no matter which consumable you use. The snug<br />

fit of the cushion in combination with the high pressure and<br />

excellent heating capabilities of the lid reduce evaporation to<br />

a minimum.<br />

Evaporation leads to increasing concentrations of the PCR<br />

master mix components, especially primers. This, in turn,<br />

leads to non-specific binding. The changes in concentrations<br />

due to evaporation both during the experiment and between<br />

experiments can be a cause for great concern for any scientist<br />

who tries to keep variables to a minimum.<br />

Gradient with SteadySlope ® technology<br />

The gradient option of the Mastercycler pro features<br />

SteadySlope technology to ensure that the heating and<br />

cooling ramp rates are identical in both gradient and normal<br />

operation. Thus, you can expect identical temperature control<br />

characteristics during both optimization and routine experiments.<br />

Programming the gradient with the Control Panel or the<br />

CycleManager pro is easy and intuitive—so that novice users<br />

can get started quickly and safely.<br />

The Mastercycler nexus offers the reliability and ease-of-use<br />

of an <strong>Eppendorf</strong> cycler with low energy consumption, easy<br />

expandability to 3 units and a small footprint make it not only fit<br />

to your budget, but also to your precious lab space. It can handle<br />

all kinds of PCR consumables, from low volume all the way up<br />

to 0.5 mL PCR tubes. All common PCR plates fit—and if your<br />

Gradient with SteadySlope ® Technology<br />

The gradient option of the Mastercycler nexus features the<br />

SteadySlope technology to ensure that the heating and<br />

cooling ramp rates are identical in both gradient and normal<br />

operation. Thus, you can expect identical temperature control<br />

Mastercycler® ep realplex<br />

<strong>Eppendorf</strong>’s Mastercycler ep realplex software is intuitive and<br />

user-friendly. The Windows ® -like interface allows for a clear<br />

and comprehensive organization of multiple viewing windows.<br />

The Plate layout screen is designed like a 96-well PCR plate<br />

making labeling and identification easy. This screen also<br />

provides a helpful “Hint” box in the bottom corner making<br />

set up simple for users of any level. Once your experiment<br />

has begun the Monitoring screen allows you to visualize the<br />

results in real-time as they appear, and you can interrupt the<br />

run once the desired results have been obtained!<br />

Description<br />

<strong>Eppendorf</strong> ® twin.tec real-time PCR Plates 1 offer all the advantages<br />

of regular twin.tec plates and give you the advantage of white<br />

wells for your real-time PCR. The limiting factor in low volume<br />

real-time PCR is often the remaining intensity of fluorescence.<br />

The white wells of the <strong>Eppendorf</strong> twin.tec real-time PCR plates<br />

reflect fluorescence much better than clear or frosted wells.<br />

Thus, lower levels of fluorescence are still detectable with<br />

the same instrument—just by using the right consumables.<br />

Additionally, white wells significantly reduce interfering<br />

background fluorescence and lead to increased homogeneity<br />

Description<br />

The <strong>Eppendorf</strong> Temperature Verification System can<br />

perform a verification, and if necessary an adjustment,<br />

of the Mastercycler ® pro, Mastercycler ep, Mastercycler nexus<br />

and Mastercycler ep realplex instruments according to the<br />

manufacturer’s specifications. This system can also record<br />

temperature profiles and measure ramp rates to ensure that<br />

the thermal cycler is always at its peak performance level.<br />

The <strong>Eppendorf</strong> Temperature Verification System has 14<br />

block thermosensors and 1 lid thermosensor, all positions<br />

are measured simultaneously for rapid data acquisition.<br />

Color Calibration<br />
