Background information
• The combination of the exterior panel UD-Q11 and the fl exible wood fi ber
insulation batt in the rafters offers excellent energy effi ciency both in
winter and in summer. Note that the high thermal lag combined with high
thermal resistance is very effi cient in reducing peak loads during the
whole year
• The water vapor retarder is no longer required in this assembly as the
exterior panel increases temperature in the risk zone and eliminates
condensation problems
• For roofs with a limited rafter height the UD-Q11 protection panel can be
applied as continuous insulation with thickness up to 120 mm directly onto
the rafters
• UD-Q11 panel is resistant to weathering for up to 10 weeks and can be
used as temporary roof without roof covering either during construction
or if the roofi ng is damaged
Background information
• The internal insulation ID-Q11 is installed directly onto the internal wall sheathing
(e.g. OSB) over the full surface to eliminate the effect of thermal bridges.
• If the OSB is placed on outside (like in the USA) use the application of runners
or wood strapping
• Service channels/ducts can simply be cut into the insulation board and covered
by means of the internal cladding.
• Final and permanent attachment of the insulation is carried out when the internal
fi nish (for example gypsum plaster boards) is fastened to the frame wall through
the insulation board
• No penetration of the air and vapor barriers as these barriers are installed on the
other side of the OSB or under the interior insulation.
• Positive effect for the indoor climate through natural humidity compensation by
the wood fi bre insulation
• Highly effi cient insulation with simple easy-to-install layer structure
• Moisture content is affected by vapor diffusion and
hygroscopic sorption characteristics of the cellulose
• Better fi re protection with lower cost, up to 90 min
