Quick and material-protecting cleaning
of the surfaces of solar modules
• Can be operated from the ridge
• Material-saving module cleaning
• High cleaning performance
• Robust and powerful
water hydraulic axial piston motor
*In a test operation, a cleaning performance of a
module surface area equivalent to 20kW/h could be
achieved per hour.
PvSpin - the practical and easy-to-handle module cleaning device
The new cleaning device PvSpin allows a swift and economic cleaning of big-surface solar plants that are
considerably soiled. Especially solar plants on agricultural buildings with ridge ventilation become dirty already
after a short time. This results in yield losses of 15% and more. Cleaning systems that are operated manually are
often uneconomic. However, cleaning robots are expensive and difficult to transport. PvSpin is clean, quick,
efficient and easy to handle - so the PVSpin device will have paid itself off after a short time.
PvSpin – purpose and handling
The cleaning with PvSpin works with two cleaning brushes that turn in opposing directions and are driven by
water pressure. At the same time, water is sprayed on the modules which makes the cleaning process material-protecting.
The device can be operated from the ridge by one person. In case of very flat roofs, it is recommendable to
employ a second person that pulls the device downwards using a plastic rope that can be attached to the device.
The handling of the PVSpin device is also shown in a video at www.youtube.com/user/SchletterGmbH.
By all means, read the operating instruction before putting PvSpin into operation.
Applicability and water quality
Any user of PvSpin is solely responsible for his use of this device. In any case, please check the warranty conditions
by the module manufacturer. Most module producers tolerate the cleaning of the modules with soft
brushes, pure water and without detergents.
With high external temperatures, it may be reasonable to use a high-pressure cleaner with pre-heating in order
to avoid high temperature differences in the glass of the module that might otherwise occur due to high temerpature
differences..
Please consider that detergents or processed water must not get into the canalization or the environment in an
uncontrolled manner.
Warning: There is always the danger of falling off the roof. If you step on the modules, there will be a danger of
sliding. When operations on roofs are carried out, the accident prevention regulations issued by the authorities
have to be observed. According to the accident prevention regulations, persons working on roofs have to wear
a safety harness or a safety scaffolding has to be installed. Do not step on the solar modules. By all means, read
the operating instruction before putting PvSpin into operation.
PvSpin product sheet
We advise our customers to set up the system in the following manner
The following wear parts are available:
Item no. Name
979000-349 Brushes for PvSpin
979000-357 Gear ring for PvSpin
189000-003 Sealing kit for filter element
990000-288 5 µm exchange filter for PvSpin
979000-354 High pressure hose for PvSpin, 20 m
Accessories
Item no. Name
182020-000 PvSpin safety rope 22m
182020-010 Hose with stopcock for PvSpin
We recommend our customers to set up the system as follows:
Water inlet and connection of the components: Standard hose with a
sufficient thickness.
Adapter kits for standard water taps:
Recommended if the device is used at different places.
Water filtering system: Flow rate capacity of 2 m³/h for the preparation of
water that is suitable for cleaning.
Buffer tank: To avoid dry running in the high pressure pump of the high
pressure cleaning device. If there is no sufficient water pressure or flow
rate on site, we recommend the utilization of a standard pallet tank
with a capacity of 1000 l. In order to safeguard an uninterrupted cleaning
operation, the tank can be filled with a sufficient quantity of water during
an preparation phase. If you use rain water, make sure that it is sufficiently
pre-filtered.
Pump: Between the tank and the high-pressure cleaner with a minimum
flow rate of 2000 l/h. If a self-priming high pressure cleaner is used, no
pump is required.
High-pressure cleaner, possibly heatable. Pay regard to the safety information
of the high-pressure cleaner!
Hose reel with crank including rotary water feed-through.
Inlet pipe to the cleaning device: DN8 high pressure hose, possibly with
extension. Connector M 22x1.5.
