3.12 University of Debrecen (Hungary)<br />
Introduction<br />
The University of Debrecen is the oldest continuously operating institution of higher<br />
education in Hungary (since 1538) and has a student body of over 30,000; t<strong>here</strong> are<br />
1700 instructors; 15 faculties and 25 doctoral schools; making the University one of<br />
the largest higher education institutions in Hungary.<br />
The <strong>Medic</strong>al & Health Science Centre is one of the largest hospitals in Hungary.<br />
<strong>Medic</strong>al education in English started in 1987 and at present around 2500 international<br />
students represent countries from all around the world.<br />
The library of the University of Debrecen is the largest in Hungary (also known as<br />
National Library) consisting of more than 6 million number of records.<br />
