4 desirability of said land for park purposes and if the board reports
5 favorably then said board and the executive council may purchase the
6 same from the person or persons by whom the same was acquired, or
7 said board and the executive council may institute condemnation pro-
8 ceedings under the statutes provided for that purpose to acquire the
9 land at a reasonable price. The state board of conservation shall act
10 as trustee until said lands are paid for by the state. Payment for said
11 lands shall be made out of the appropriation made by the legislature
12 for the purchase and improvement of state parks.

SEC. 1177-a2. Jurisdiction over meandered streams and lakes.
The state board of conservation is hereby authorized to take control
and management of all meandered streams and lakes belonging to
the state for park purposes, the jurisdiction over which has not otherwise
been conferred by law.

SEC. 1182-al. Powers of counties to acquire parks.
1 Authority is hereby granted to any county or counties to vote
2 money for the purchase of land for park purposes for the benefit of
3 the community and state, and said lands when so acquired shall be
4 turned over to the state and be placed under the management of the
5 state board of conservation as a part of the state park system. Before
6 any such purchase can be made, the question shall be submitted to the
7 voters of the county or counties in the manner provided by law for
8 the conducting of elections, and said submission to the voters shall be
9 at a regular election and the amount of money required for the pur-
10 chase of said lands shall be placed upon the ballot. If it is favorable
11 to said proposition, then the board of supervisors may levy a sufficient
12 tax to pay for the said lands.

SECTION 1187. Partition fences—owners to maintain.
The respective owners of adjoining tracts of land shall upon written
request of either owner, be compelled to erect and maintain partition
fences, or contribute thereto, and keep the same in good repair
throughout the year, and if said fence be hedge, the owner thereof
shall trim or cut it back twice during each calendar year, the first time
during the month of June and the last time during the month of September,
to within five feet from the ground, unless such owners otherwise
agree in writing to be filed with and recorded by the township
clerk.
