CHAPTER 13.<br />

STATE BOARD OF AUDIT.<br />

SECTION 276. <strong>State</strong> board <strong>of</strong> audit—how constituted—duties.<br />

1 There is hereby created the state board <strong>of</strong> audit, to consist <strong>of</strong> the<br />

2 attorney general or one <strong>of</strong> his authorized assistants to be designated<br />

3 by him for this service, the secretary <strong>of</strong> the executive council and the<br />

4 auditor <strong>of</strong> state, who shall be ex <strong>of</strong>ficio secretary <strong>of</strong> the board, and<br />

5 who shall make a record <strong>of</strong> all claims approved in a record kept for<br />

6 that purpose and also in the claim register.<br />

CHAPTER 15.<br />

DEPUTIES OF STATE OFFICERS.<br />

SECTION 293. Deputy secretary <strong>of</strong> state—bond—duties.<br />

The secretary <strong>of</strong> state may appoint, in writing, any person, except<br />

one holding a state <strong>of</strong>fice, as deputy, for whose acts he shall be responsible,<br />

and from whom he shall require bonds, which appointment and<br />

bond must be approved by the <strong>of</strong>ficer having the approval <strong>of</strong> the principal's<br />

bond, and such appointment may be revoked in the same manner;<br />

both the appointment and revocation to be filed with and kept<br />

by such <strong>of</strong>ficer. The deputy shall qualify by taking the oath <strong>of</strong> the<br />

principal, to be indorsed upon and filed with the certificate <strong>of</strong> appointment,<br />

and when so qualified he shall, in the absence or disability <strong>of</strong> the<br />

secretary, perform all the duties <strong>of</strong> the secretary pertaining to his<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice.<br />

SEC. 294. Deputy auditor <strong>of</strong> state—bond—duties.<br />

The auditor <strong>of</strong> state may appoint, in writing, any person, except<br />

one holding a state <strong>of</strong>fice, as deputy, for whose acts he shall be held<br />

responsible, and from whom he shall require bond, which appointment<br />

and bond must be approved by the <strong>of</strong>ficer having the approval <strong>of</strong> the<br />

principal's bond, and such appointment may be revoked in the same<br />

manner; both the appointment and revocation to be filed and kept in<br />

the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the secretary <strong>of</strong> state. The deputy shall qualify by taking<br />

the oath <strong>of</strong> the principal, to be indorsed upon and filed with the certificate<br />

<strong>of</strong> appointment, and when so qualified he shall, in the absence<br />
