70 dollars, three dollars ; where such value is between three and five thou-
71 sand dollars, five dollars ; w'here such value is between five and seven
72 thousand dollars, eight dollars; where such value is between seven
73 and ten thousand dollars, ten dollars ; where such value is between ten
74 and twenty-five thousand dollars, fifteen dollars; for each additional
75 twenty-five thousand dollars or major fraction thereof, there shall be
76 taxed the further sum of ten dollars.
77 30. In addition to the foregoing, for making a complete record
78 in cases where the same is required by law or directed by an order
79 of the court, for every one hundred words, ten cents.

SEC. 6983. Salary.
1 Each clerk of the district court shall receive for his services the
2 following compensation : In counties having a population of less than
3 ten thousand, seventeen hundred dollars ; in counties having a popu-
4 lation of ten thousand and less than fifteen thousand, eighteen hundred
5 dollars ; in counties having a population of fifteen thousand and less
6 than twenty thousand, nineteen hundred dollars; in counties having
7 a population of twenty thousand and less than twenty-five thousand,
8 two thousand dollars ; in counties having a population of twenty-five
9 thousand and less than thirty thousand, twenty-one hundred dollars ;
10 in counties having a population of thirty thousand and less than thirty-
11 five thousand, twenty-two hundred dollars; in counties having a
12 population of thirty-five thousand and less than forty thousand,
13 twenty-four hundred dollars ; in counties having a population of forty
14 thousand and less than fifty thousand, twenty-eight hundred dollars ;
15 in counties having a population of fifty thousand and less than sixty
16 thousand, three thousand fifty dollars; in counties having a popula-
17 tion of sixty thousand and less than sixty-five thousand, thirty-three
18 hundred dollars ; in counties having a population of sixty-five thousand
19 and over, thirty-four hundred dollars; provided, however, that in
20 counties where the district court is held in two places he shall receive
21 as additional compensation the sum of four hundred dollars.
22 Any increase in salaries provided for in this act [38 G. A., ch.
23 293] shall not apply after June thirtieth, nineteen hundred twenty-
24 three.

SEC. 6985. Deputies — appointment — compensation — qualifications.
1 Each clerk of the district court may, in writing, with the consent
2 of the board of supervisors, appoint one or more deputies not holding
3 a county office, for whose acts he shall be responsible, and from whom
4 he shall require a bond, which bond shall be approved by the officer
5 who has the approval of the principal's bond. Such appointment may
6 be revoked in writing, which appointment and revocation shall be filed
