70 dollars, three dollars ; where such value is between three and five thou-<br />

71 sand dollars, five dollars ; w'here such value is between five and seven<br />

72 thousand dollars, eight dollars; where such value is between seven<br />

73 and ten thousand dollars, ten dollars ; where such value is between ten<br />

74 and twenty-five thousand dollars, fifteen dollars; for each additional<br />

75 twenty-five thousand dollars or major fraction there<strong>of</strong>, there shall be<br />

76 taxed the further sum <strong>of</strong> ten dollars.<br />

77 30. In addition to the foregoing, for making a complete record<br />

78 in cases where the same is required by law or directed by an order<br />

79 <strong>of</strong> the court, for every one hundred words, ten cents.<br />

SEC. 6983. Salary.<br />

1 Each clerk <strong>of</strong> the district court shall receive for his services the<br />

2 following compensation : In counties having a population <strong>of</strong> less than<br />

3 ten thousand, seventeen hundred dollars ; in counties having a popu-<br />

4 lation <strong>of</strong> ten thousand and less than fifteen thousand, eighteen hundred<br />

5 dollars ; in counties having a population <strong>of</strong> fifteen thousand and less<br />

6 than twenty thousand, nineteen hundred dollars; in counties having<br />

7 a population <strong>of</strong> twenty thousand and less than twenty-five thousand,<br />

8 two thousand dollars ; in counties having a population <strong>of</strong> twenty-five<br />

9 thousand and less than thirty thousand, twenty-one hundred dollars ;<br />

10 in counties having a population <strong>of</strong> thirty thousand and less than thirty-<br />

11 five thousand, twenty-two hundred dollars; in counties having a<br />

12 population <strong>of</strong> thirty-five thousand and less than forty thousand,<br />

13 twenty-four hundred dollars ; in counties having a population <strong>of</strong> forty<br />

14 thousand and less than fifty thousand, twenty-eight hundred dollars ;<br />

15 in counties having a population <strong>of</strong> fifty thousand and less than sixty<br />

16 thousand, three thousand fifty dollars; in counties having a popula-<br />

17 tion <strong>of</strong> sixty thousand and less than sixty-five thousand, thirty-three<br />

18 hundred dollars ; in counties having a population <strong>of</strong> sixty-five thousand<br />

19 and over, thirty-four hundred dollars; provided, however, that in<br />

20 counties where the district court is held in two places he shall receive<br />

21 as additional compensation the sum <strong>of</strong> four hundred dollars.<br />

22 Any increase in salaries provided for in this act [38 G. A., ch.<br />

23 293] shall not apply after June thirtieth, nineteen hundred twenty-<br />

SEC. 6985. Deputies — appointment — compensation — qualifications.<br />

1 Each clerk <strong>of</strong> the district court may, in writing, with the consent<br />

2 <strong>of</strong> the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors, appoint one or more deputies not holding<br />

3 a county <strong>of</strong>fice, for whose acts he shall be responsible, and from whom<br />

4 he shall require a bond, which bond shall be approved by the <strong>of</strong>ficer<br />

5 who has the approval <strong>of</strong> the principal's bond. Such appointment may<br />

6 be revoked in writing, which appointment and revocation shall be filed<br />

7 in the auditor's <strong>of</strong>fice. The person or persons thus appointed shall
