21 such town shall be retained but shall only have jurisdiction <strong>of</strong> prose-<br />

22 cutions for the violation <strong>of</strong> the ordinances <strong>of</strong> said town.<br />

23 Provided, however, that if an incorporated town, or incorporated<br />

24 towns, be situated within the territorial limits <strong>of</strong> such municipal court<br />

25 as in this chapter provided, then, and in that event, the mayor's court<br />

26 <strong>of</strong> such incorporated town, or incorporated towns, shall not be abol-<br />

27 ished, but said mayor's court in such incorporated town, or incor-<br />

28 porated towns, shall have only the jurisdiction to try <strong>of</strong>fenses for the<br />

29 violation <strong>of</strong> the ordinances <strong>of</strong> said incorporated town, or incorporated<br />

30 towns, and impose sentence and punishment therefor, and such mu-<br />

31 nicipal court shall have no jurisdiction over the violation <strong>of</strong> the ordi-<br />

32 nances <strong>of</strong> the said incorporated town or incorporated towns.<br />

SEC. 6888. Salary.<br />

1 The annual salary <strong>of</strong> each municipal judge, shall be three thou-<br />

2 sand dollars in cities <strong>of</strong> less than thirty thousand inhabitants ; thirty-<br />

3 four hundred dollars in cities <strong>of</strong> thirty thousand and less than<br />

4 seventy-five thousand inhabitants; and thirty-six hundred dollars in<br />

5 cities <strong>of</strong> seventy-five thousand or more inhabitants.<br />

6 Each clerk shall receive an annual salary <strong>of</strong> eighteen hundred<br />

7 dollars in cities <strong>of</strong> less than thirty thousand inhabitants; twenty-two<br />

8 hundred dollars in cities <strong>of</strong> thirty thousand and less than seventy-five<br />

9 thousand inhabitants; and twenty-six hundred dollars in cities <strong>of</strong><br />

10 seventy-five thousand or more inhabitants.<br />

11 Each bailiff shall receive an annual salary <strong>of</strong> fifteen hundred dol-<br />

12 lars in cities <strong>of</strong> less than thirty thousand inhabitants ; seventeen hun-<br />

13 dred fifty dollars in cities <strong>of</strong> thirty thousand and less than seventy-five<br />

14 thousand inhabitants, and two thousand dollars in cities <strong>of</strong> seventy-<br />

15 five thousand inhabitants or over.<br />

16 The deputy clerks and deputy bailiffs shall receive such compen-<br />

17 sation as the city council may allow.<br />

18 The salaries Of municipal judges, clerk, bailiff and all deputies<br />

19 shall be paid monthly on the first Monday <strong>of</strong> each month. For the<br />

20. first month such salary shall be paid from the city treasury and the<br />

21 second month such salary shall be paid from the county treasury.<br />

22 Each month thereafter such payments shall alternate from the city<br />

23 to the county treasury in like manner.<br />

SEC. 6890. Shorthand reporter.<br />

1 Each judge <strong>of</strong> the municipal court, may appoint a shorthand re-<br />

2 porter. All provisions relating to shorthand reporters and their<br />

3 duties in the district court, in so far as applicable, shall govern, except<br />

4 their compensation which shall be fixed by order <strong>of</strong> the court not ex-<br />

5 jreeding eight dollars per day, for the time actually engaged in their<br />

6 court duties and shall be paid one-half by the county and one-half by<br />

7 the city as provided in this chapter.<br />

8 All actions included in class "A" here<strong>of</strong>, may be reported the<br />

9 same as in the district court, and the reporter's fees shall be taxed<br />

10 in said action as costs.
