§§ 6179-a2-6179-a4. BONDED WAREHOUSES. Tit. XXI, Ch. 8-A.<br />

3 The term "warehouse" as used in this chapter shall be deemed to<br />

4 mean every building, structure, or other protected inclosure in which<br />

5 any agricultural product is or may be stored within the state.<br />

6 The term "agricultural product" wherever used in this chapter<br />

7 shall be deemed to mean cotton, wool, grains, tobacco, and flaxseed, or<br />

8 any <strong>of</strong> them.<br />

9 As used in this chapter :<br />

10 1. "Person" includes a corporation or partnership <strong>of</strong> two or more<br />

11 persons having a joint or common interest.<br />

12 2. "Warehouseman" means a person lawfully engaged in the busi-<br />

13 ness <strong>of</strong> storing agricultural products.<br />

14 3. "Receipt" means a warehouse receipt.<br />

SEC. 6179-a2. Duties <strong>of</strong> commissioners.<br />

1 The commissioners are authorized :<br />

2 1. To investigate the storage, warehousing, classifying according<br />

3 to grade and otherwise, weighing, and certification <strong>of</strong> agricultural<br />

4 products.<br />

5 2. Upon application to them by any person applying for license<br />

6 to conduct a warehouse under this chapter, to inspect such warehouse<br />

7 or cause it to be inspected.<br />

8 3. At any time, with or without application to them, to inspect or<br />

9 cause to be inspected all warehouses licensed under this chapter.<br />

10 4. To determine whether warehouses for which licenses are<br />

11 applied for or have been issued under this chapter are suitable for the<br />

12 proper storage <strong>of</strong> any agricultural product or products.<br />

13 5. To classify warehouses licensed or applying for a license in<br />

14 accordance with their ownership, location, surroundings, capacity, con-<br />

15 ditions, and other qualities, and as to the kinds <strong>of</strong> licenses issued or<br />

16 that may be issued for them pursuant to this chapter.<br />

17 6. To prescribe, within the limitations <strong>of</strong> this chapter, the duties<br />

18 <strong>of</strong> the warehousemen conducting warehouses licensed under this<br />

19 chapter with respect to their care <strong>of</strong> and responsibility for agricultural<br />

20 products stored therein.<br />

SEC. 6179-a3. License—conditions.<br />

1 The commissioners are authorized, upon application to them, to<br />

2 issue to any warehouseman a license for the conduct <strong>of</strong> a warehouse or<br />

3 warehouses in accordance with this chapter and such rules and regula-<br />

4 tions as may be made hereunder : Provided, that each such warehouse<br />

5 be found suitable for the proper storage <strong>of</strong> the particular agricultural<br />

6 product or products for which a license is applied for, and that such<br />

7 warehouseman agree, as a condition to the granting <strong>of</strong> the license, to<br />

8 comply with and abide by all the terms <strong>of</strong> this chapter and the rules<br />

9 and regulations prescribed hereunder.<br />

SEC. 6179-a4. Tenure <strong>of</strong> license—renewal.<br />

1 Each license issued under the preceding section shall be issued<br />

2 for a period not exceeding one year, and shall specify the date upon<br />

3 which it is to terminate, and upon showing satisfactory to the commis-
