SEC. 241-a69. Daily legislative journals.<br />

1 The record <strong>of</strong> the transactions <strong>of</strong> the senate and house shall be<br />

2 published in a daily journal, printed in number as authorized by the<br />

3 general assembly or directed by the superintendent <strong>of</strong> printing. The<br />

4 eompleted journals shall be published in book form, with index and<br />

5 record <strong>of</strong> bills, in an edition <strong>of</strong> not less than one thousand in library<br />

6 binding and not less than one thousand in paper covers. There shall<br />

7 also be printed for the general assembly or the members there<strong>of</strong> such<br />

8 other material necessary for the transaction <strong>of</strong> legislative business.<br />

SEC. 241-a70. Reports <strong>of</strong> legislative proceedings.<br />

1 The reports <strong>of</strong> the legislative proceedings shall be delivered by the<br />

2 secretary <strong>of</strong> the senate and the chief clerk <strong>of</strong> the house to the superin-<br />

3 tendent <strong>of</strong> printing promptly upon completion, and he shall cause such<br />

4 reports to be printed in accordance with the contracts covering the<br />

5 same. He -shall require that pro<strong>of</strong> copies <strong>of</strong> the daily journal be fur-<br />

6 nished the next legislative day after date and shall promptly deliver<br />

7 them to the sergeants-at-arms <strong>of</strong> each house. The corrections and<br />

8 changes made therein by the general assembly shall be made before the<br />

9 printing <strong>of</strong> the corrected or completed journal.<br />

SEC. 241-a71. Corrected journals.<br />

1 The journal, as corrected by order <strong>of</strong> the general assembly, shall<br />

2 be printed promptly and be delivered by the superintendent to the<br />

3 sergeants-at-arms <strong>of</strong> each house. An index, record and history <strong>of</strong><br />

4 bills, and list <strong>of</strong> bills passed, shall be prepared by the superintendent<br />

5 <strong>of</strong> printing for the completed edition <strong>of</strong> the journal.<br />

SEC. 241-a72. Legislative bills.<br />

1 The bills introduced in the general assembly shall be printed on<br />

2 good paper with pages approximately eight inches by ten inches in<br />

3 size with type not less than ten point in size, the lines spaced with<br />

4 pica slugs, each printed line to be one line <strong>of</strong> the original bill as intro-<br />

5 duced, and the lines <strong>of</strong> each section to be separately numbered. The<br />

6 number <strong>of</strong> copies <strong>of</strong> each bill to be printed unless otherwise ordered<br />

7 shall be fixed by the superintendent according to the needs <strong>of</strong> the gen-<br />

8 eral assembly, and to supply subscribers therefor.<br />

SEC. 241-a73. Legalizing acts <strong>of</strong> local nature.<br />

1 A bill which seeks to legalize the acts <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong>ficial or board or<br />

2 other <strong>of</strong>ficial body, in regard to any matter not <strong>of</strong> public nature, shall<br />

3 not be considered until it is printed as a bill and distributed to mem-<br />

4 bers <strong>of</strong> the general assembly, and the printing shall be without expense<br />

5 to the state. The superintendent <strong>of</strong> printing shall not order any such<br />

6 bill printed until he has received a deposit to cover the cost there<strong>of</strong> at<br />

7 the rate <strong>of</strong> not less than two dollars per page, and shall exclude from<br />

8 the journals all such bills.<br />
