§ 5367. CORPORATIONS FOR PECUNIARY PROFIT. Tit. XVII, Ch. 1.
24 other designation, whether carried as money on hand or in bank, real
25 estate or personal property of any description.
26 4. The total value of money and all other property the corpora-
27 tion has in use or held as investment in the state of Iowa, at the time
28 the statement is made (if any).
29 5. The total value of money and all other property the corporation
30 proposes or. expects to make use of in the state of Iowa, during the
31 ensuing year.
32 6. Certified copy of the resolution of the board of directors of
33 said corporation giving name and address in Iowa of a resident agent
34 on whom the service of original notice of civil suit in the courts of
35 this state may be served. Failing which, or in the event such agent
36 may not be found within the state, service of such process may then
37 be made upon said corporation through the secretary of the state of
38 Iowa by sending the original and two copies thereof to him, and on
39 the original of which he shall accept service on behalf of said cor-
40 poration, retain one copy for his files and send the other by registered
41 mail to the corporation at the address of its home office as shown by
42 the records in his office, which service shall have the same force and
43 effect as if lawfully made upon said corporation within the county
44 where such civil suit could be maintained against it under the laws
45 of this state.
46 The secretary of state can make such independent and further
47 investigation as to the property within this state owned by any such
48 corporation as he may desire, and upon the true facts determine the
49 value thereof, and fix the fee to be paid by such company.
50 Before a permit is issued authorizing such corporation to transact
51 business in the state of Iowa, said corporation shall pay to the secre-
52 tary of state a fee of ten cents per one hundred words for recording
53 ' the certified copy of the articles of incorporation, with resolution and
54 statement as previously set forth, and a filing fee of twenty-five dol-
55 lars upon ten thousand dollars or less of money and property of such
56 company actually within the state of Iowa, and of one dollar for each
57 one thousand dollars of such money or property within this state in
58 excess of ten thousand dollars.
59 If from time to time the amount of money or other property in
60 use in the state of Iowa by said foreign corporation is increased, said
61 corporation shall at the time of said increase, or at the time of making
62 annual report to the secretary of state, in July of each year, file with
63 the secretary of state a sworn statement showing the amount of such
64 increase, and shall pay a filing fee thereon of one dollar for each one
65 thousand dollars or fraction thereof of such increase, together with
66 a recording fee of ten cents per one hundred words, but not less than
67 fifty cents.
68 The secretary of state shall upon request furnish a blank upon
69 which to make report of such increase of capital in use within the
70 state.
71 Any corporation transacting business in this state prior to the
72 Srst day of September, eighteen hundred eighty-six, shall be exempt
73 from the payment of the fees required under the provisions of this
74 section. The secretary of state shall thereupon issue to such corpora-
75 tion a permit, in such form as he may prescribe, for the transaction
76 of the business of such corporation, and upon the receipt of such per-
