SEC. 241-a45. Custody <strong>of</strong> documents and storage rooms.<br />

1 The superintendent shall receive and have the custody <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Iowa</strong><br />

2 documents, reports, and all other printed matter and make and super-<br />

3 vise the distribution <strong>of</strong> the same in such manner as will be most eco-<br />

4 nomical and useful to the public. He shall have charge <strong>of</strong> the state<br />

5 storage building or rooms, in which he shall keep the reports and docu-<br />

6 ments.<br />

SEC. 241-a46. Information as to documents.<br />

1 The superintendent shall advise the public <strong>of</strong> the publication <strong>of</strong><br />

2 reports and documents and <strong>of</strong> the nature <strong>of</strong> the material therein, and<br />

3 give information as to the publications that are for free distribution<br />

4 and how to obtain them.<br />

SEC. 241-a47. Mailing lists.<br />

1 The superintendent shall require from <strong>of</strong>ficials or heads <strong>of</strong> depart-<br />

2 ments mailing lists, or addressed labels or envelopes, for use in dis-<br />

3 tribution <strong>of</strong> reports and documents. He shall revise such lists, elim-<br />

4 inating duplications and adding thereto libraries, institutions, public<br />

5 <strong>of</strong>ficials and persons having actual use for the material. He shall<br />

6 arrange such lists so as to reduce to the minimum the postage or other<br />

7 cost for delivery.<br />

SEC. 241-a48. Departments furnished with copies.<br />

1 The superintendent shall furnish the various <strong>of</strong>ficials and depart-<br />

2 ments with copies <strong>of</strong> their reports needed for <strong>of</strong>fice use or to be dis-<br />

3 tributed to persons calling for the same.<br />

SEC. 241-a49. Distribution to assembly members.<br />

1 The <strong>Iowa</strong> documents, the <strong>of</strong>ficial reports, the completed journals<br />

2 <strong>of</strong> the general assembly, the miscellaneous documents, other publica-<br />

3 tions, and at least thirty copies <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>ficial register, shall be sent<br />

4 to each <strong>of</strong> the members <strong>of</strong> the general assembly, and, so far as they<br />

5 are available, additional copies upon their request.<br />

SEC. 241-a50. Distribution to libraries.<br />

1 The <strong>Iowa</strong> documents, the completed journals <strong>of</strong> the general assem-<br />

2 bly and the <strong>of</strong>ficial register shall be sent to each free public library in<br />

3 <strong>Iowa</strong>, the state library, the library commission, libraries at state insti-<br />

4 tutions and college libraries.<br />

SEC. 241-a51. Distribution to newspapers.<br />

1 The journals <strong>of</strong> the general assembly and the <strong>of</strong>ficial register shall<br />

2 be sent to each newspaper <strong>of</strong> general circulation in <strong>Iowa</strong>, and editors
