I 4219. GOVERNMENT OF CITIES BY COMMISSION. Tit. XIII, Ch. 39.<br />

150 Having caused the said ballots to be printed, the said city clerk<br />

151 shall cause to be delivered at each polling place a number <strong>of</strong> said<br />

152 ballots equal to twice the number <strong>of</strong> votes cast in such polling precinct<br />

153 at the last general municipal election for mayor.<br />

154 The persons who are qualified to vote at the general municipal<br />

155 election shall be qualified to vote at such primary election. Challenges<br />

156 can be made by not more than two persons, to be appointed at the<br />

157 time <strong>of</strong> opening the polls by the judges <strong>of</strong> election; and the law<br />

158 applicable to challenges at a general municipal election shall be ap-<br />

159 plicable to challenges made at such primary election.<br />

160 Judges <strong>of</strong> election shall, immediately upon the closing <strong>of</strong> the polls,<br />

161 count the ballots and ascertain the number <strong>of</strong> votes cast in such pre-<br />

162 cinct for each <strong>of</strong> the candidates, and make return there<strong>of</strong> to the city<br />

163 clerk, upon proper blanks to be furnished by the said city clerk,<br />

164 within six hours <strong>of</strong> the closing <strong>of</strong> the polls.<br />

165 On the day following the said primary election, the said city<br />

166 clerk shall publicly canvass said returns so received from the polling<br />

167 precincts, and.shall make and publish in all the newspapers <strong>of</strong> said<br />

168 city, at least once, the result there<strong>of</strong>. The two candidates receiving<br />

169 the highest number <strong>of</strong> votes for mayor shall be the candidates, and<br />

170 the only candidates, whose names shall be placed upon the ballot<br />

171 for mayor at the next succeeding general municipal election.<br />

172 The two candidates receiving the highest number <strong>of</strong> votes for<br />

173 the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> superintendent <strong>of</strong> "accounts and finances" or "superin-<br />

174 tendent <strong>of</strong> accounts and finances and parks and public property" as<br />

175 the case may be, shall be the candidates, and the only candidates,<br />

176 whose names shall be placed upon the ballot for superintendent <strong>of</strong><br />

177 "accounts and finances" or "superintendent <strong>of</strong> accounts and finances<br />

178 and parks and public property" as the case may be, at the next suc-<br />

179 ceeding general municipal election.<br />

180 The two candidates receiving the highest number <strong>of</strong> votes for<br />

181 the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> "superintendent <strong>of</strong> public safety" or "superintendent <strong>of</strong><br />

182 public safety and streets and public improvements" as the case may<br />

183 be, shall be the candidates, and the only candidates, whose names<br />

184 shall be placed upon the ballot for superintendent <strong>of</strong> "public safety"<br />

185 or "superintendent <strong>of</strong> public safety and streets and public improve-<br />

186 ments" as the case may be, at the next succeeding general municipal<br />

187 election.<br />

188 The two candidates receiving the highest number <strong>of</strong> votes for<br />

189 the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> "superintendent <strong>of</strong> streets and public improvements" shall<br />

190 be the candidates, and the only candidates, whose names shall be<br />

191 placed upon the ballot for "superintendent <strong>of</strong> streets and public im-<br />

192 provements" at the next succeeding general municipal election.<br />

193 The two candidates receiving the highest number <strong>of</strong> votes for<br />

194 the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> "superintendent <strong>of</strong> parks and public property" shall be<br />

195 the candidates, and the only candidates, whose names shall be placed<br />

196 upon the ballot for "superintendent <strong>of</strong> parks and public property" at<br />

197 the next succeeding general municipal election.<br />

198 All electors <strong>of</strong> cities under this chapter, who by the laws govern-<br />

199 ing cities <strong>of</strong> the first and second class would be entitled to vote for the<br />

200 election <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers at any general municipal election in such cities,<br />

201 shall be qualified to vote at all elections under this chapter. The<br />

202 ballot at such general municipal election shall be in the same general<br />

203 form as for such primary election, so far as applicable; and in all
