TITLE XIII.<br />

CITY AND TOWN GOVERNMENT.<br />

CHAPTER 2.<br />

ORGANIZATION AND OFFICERS.<br />

SECTION 3547. Compensation <strong>of</strong> assessors and deputies—special<br />

services.<br />

1 Town assessors and assessors in cities <strong>of</strong> the second class, and<br />

2 their deputies shall receive the same compensation as township assess-<br />

3 ors, which shall be determined in the same manner and payable from<br />

4 the county treasury. In cities <strong>of</strong> the first class, including those under<br />

5 the commission form <strong>of</strong> government, the compensation <strong>of</strong> the assessor<br />

6 shall be not more than eighteen hundred dollars per annum, or not<br />

7 less than five dollars per day for the time actually employed, to be<br />

8 fixed by the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors ; and that <strong>of</strong> the deputies not more<br />

9 than five dollars or less than three dollars and fifty cents per calendar<br />

10 day, Sunday excepted, for the time actually employed, to be fixed by<br />

LI the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors.<br />

12 In cities under the commission form <strong>of</strong> government having a<br />

13 population <strong>of</strong> more than forty-five thousand, and in cities acting under<br />

14 special charter having a population <strong>of</strong> more than forty-five thousand,<br />

15 the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors shall fix the compensation <strong>of</strong> the assessor at<br />

16 twenty-five hundred dollars per annum, and the compensation <strong>of</strong> not<br />

17 more than two head deputy assessors at eighteen hundred dollars per<br />

18 annum.<br />

19 In cities where extra or special services are to be performed by<br />

20 the assessor the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors may by special contract with the<br />

21 assessor determine the compensation to be paid.<br />
