6 license and tag and remit the same by mail to the person named as<br />

7 applicant therein.<br />

SEC. 3139-a4. Transferability <strong>of</strong> license and tag.<br />

1 No license or license tag issued for one dog shall be transferable<br />

2 to another dog. Whenever the ownership <strong>of</strong> any dog is permanently<br />

3 transferred from one person to another the license may be likewise<br />

4 transferred by notation on the face there<strong>of</strong> by the county auditor.<br />

5 Whenever a dog licensed in one county is permanently transferred to<br />

6 another county the license may also be transferred by application to the<br />

7 county auditor <strong>of</strong> the county to which the dog is removed and the pay-<br />

8 ment to him <strong>of</strong> a fee <strong>of</strong> twenty-five cents. Upon the payment <strong>of</strong> the<br />

9 fee above referred to, a new license and tag shall be issued for such<br />

10 dog.<br />

SEC. 3139-a5. Auditor to keep account.<br />

1 The county auditor shall keep an accurate record <strong>of</strong> all such fees<br />

2 collected by him or paid over to him by others, and shall turn the same<br />

3 over to the county treasurer, who shall keep the same as a fund to be<br />

4 known as the domestic animal fund.<br />

SEC. 3139-a6. Assessor to secure data as to dogs—fee.<br />

1 Each assessor, for taxation purposes, shall annually, at the time<br />

2 <strong>of</strong> assessing property, as required by law, make diligent inquiry as to<br />

3 the number <strong>of</strong> dogs owned, harbored or kept by any person so assessed<br />

4 and report the same to the county auditor, and shall be allowed as a<br />

5 fee the sum <strong>of</strong> ten cents each for all dogs so reported, in addition to any<br />

6 and all other fees or salary permitted to him by law, providing that<br />

7 such fee shall be paid from the domestic animal fund.<br />

SEC. 3139-a7. Killing <strong>of</strong> licensed and unlicensed dogs.<br />

1 Any dog, which has not been licensed as above provided, shall be<br />

2 deemed a wild dog, and it shall be the duty <strong>of</strong> each peace <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong> the<br />

3 state, including the peace <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> the cities and towns, to kill any<br />

4 dog found within the county without a collar and tag. Any other<br />

5 person may also kill such dog at any time and any licensed dog may be<br />

6 killed if caught in the act <strong>of</strong> worrying, maiming or killing any domestic<br />

7 animal, or fowl.<br />

SEC. 3139-a8. Removal <strong>of</strong> license tag.<br />

1 It shall be unlawful for any person except the owner or his<br />

2 authorized agent to remove any license tag from a dog collar, or to<br />

3 remove any collar with a license tag attached thereto from any dog.<br />
