SEC. 3066-a3. Operation <strong>of</strong> vehicle without proper numbers—<br />

penalty.<br />

1 Any manufacturer, dealer, or used car dealer operating a motor<br />

2 vehicle upon the public highways <strong>of</strong> the state which has not been regis-<br />

3 tered according to law or has not displayed thereon two number plates<br />

4 issued by the automobile department showing the payment <strong>of</strong> a license<br />

5 fee for the current year, or which has not displayed thereon, "car in<br />

6 transit" cards or "license applied for" cards where the same may<br />

7 lawfully be driven with such cards attached, shall be guilty <strong>of</strong> a mis-<br />

8 demeanor and punished accordingly. Upon a second conviction such<br />

9 license may be revoked by the secretary <strong>of</strong> state, if, after hearing, the<br />

10 secretary <strong>of</strong> state determines that such manufacturer, dealer, or used<br />

11 car dealer has wilfully violated the law with reference to the opera-<br />

12 tion <strong>of</strong> motor vehicles upon the public highway without proper number<br />

13 plates or identification cards attached.<br />

SEC. 3068-al. Approved headlight lenses.<br />

1 It shall be the duty <strong>of</strong> the state highway commission to examine<br />

2 all headlight lenses submitted to it by manufacturers and dealers, and<br />

3 any such lenses so submitted which, when in operation with an electric<br />

4 bulb or other lighting device <strong>of</strong> a capacity not in excess <strong>of</strong> that pro-<br />

5 vided by this chapter, casts a light which complies with the provisions<br />

6 <strong>of</strong> this chapter, shall be placed upon the approved list <strong>of</strong> the state<br />

7 department. The fee for each such examination shall be twenty-five<br />

8 dollars, and the state highway commission is hereby authorized to<br />

9 collect and remit to the state treasurer said fee and credit to the<br />

10 account <strong>of</strong> the primary road fund. It shall also be the duty <strong>of</strong> the<br />

11 state department to furnish county treasurers with a list <strong>of</strong> such lenses<br />

12 as are upon the approved list <strong>of</strong> the department, and such lenses used<br />

13 on any motor vehicle operated in this state equipped with a lighting<br />

14- device <strong>of</strong> a candle power not exceeding the provisions <strong>of</strong> this chapter,<br />

15 together with the lenses so approved by the department, shall be con-<br />

16 clusively presumed to be lawful.<br />

SEC. 3068-a2. Sale without lights prohibited.<br />

1 No person shall <strong>of</strong>fer or expose for sale, sell, transfer, deliver, or<br />

2 have in his possession with intent to sell, any motor vehicle which is<br />

3 not equipped with head and rear lights as prescribed by law.<br />

SEC. 3068-a3. Violation—penalty.<br />

1 Any person violating the preceding section shall be punished by<br />

2 a fine <strong>of</strong> not less than twenty-five dollars nor more than one hundred<br />

3 dollars.<br />
