5 <strong>of</strong> either party, appoint three disinterested voters <strong>of</strong> the county to<br />

6 appraise said site.<br />

7 The county superintendent shall give notice to both parties <strong>of</strong> the<br />

8 time and place <strong>of</strong> making such appraisement, which notice shall be<br />

9 served in the same manner and for the same time as for the commence-<br />

10 ment <strong>of</strong> action in the district court.<br />

11 Such appraisers shall inspect the premises and, at the time and<br />

12 place designated in the notice, appraise said site in writing, which<br />

13 appraisement, after being duly verified, shall be filed with the county<br />

14 superintendent.<br />

15 If the owner <strong>of</strong> the tract from which said site was taken fails to<br />

16 pay the amount <strong>of</strong> such appraisement to such school corporation within<br />

17 twenty days after the filing <strong>of</strong> same with the county superintendent,<br />

18 the school corporation may sell said site to any other person at the<br />

19 appraised value, or may sell the same at public sale to the highest bid-<br />

20 der.<br />

21 If there are improvements on said site, the improvements may, at<br />

22 the request <strong>of</strong> either party, be appraised and sold separately.<br />

SEC. 2649-a3. Sale <strong>of</strong> unnecessary schoolhouse sites.<br />

1 Schoolhouses and school sites no longer necessary for school pur-<br />

2 poses, because <strong>of</strong> being located in consolidated school districts, may be<br />

3 sold immediately after the organization <strong>of</strong> such consolidated school<br />

4 districts, in the manner above provided.<br />

5 During the use <strong>of</strong> such premises, no person owning a right <strong>of</strong><br />

6 reversion, shall have any interest in or control over the premises.<br />

7 This and the two preceding sections shall not apply to cases where<br />

8 schools have been temporarily closed by law on account <strong>of</strong> small<br />

9 attendance.<br />

CHAPTER 30.<br />

SCHOOL TAXES AND BONDS.<br />

SECTION 2650. School taxes—transportation fund—contract for<br />

use <strong>of</strong> library.<br />

1 The board <strong>of</strong> each school corporation shall at its regular meeting<br />

2 in July, or at a special meeting called for that purpose between the<br />

3 time designated for such regular meeting and the third Monday in<br />

4 August, estimate the amount required for the general fund, not ex-<br />

5 ceeding eighty dollars for each pupil <strong>of</strong> school age; provided that in<br />

6 any school corporation having a population <strong>of</strong> fifty thousand or more<br />

7 the maximum levy provided herein may be increased to ninety dollars<br />

8 per each person <strong>of</strong> school age in said district; but each school cor-<br />

9 poration may estimate not to exceed one thousand dollars for each<br />

10 school there<strong>of</strong>, and such additional sum as may be necessary not
