CHAPTER 20.<br />

SCHOOL MEETING—ELECTION OP DIRECTORS—POWERS AND DUTIES-<br />

GENERAL PROVISIONS.<br />

SECTION 2541. Number <strong>of</strong> directors in school townships.<br />

1 The board <strong>of</strong> directors <strong>of</strong> «a school township shall be composed<br />

2 <strong>of</strong> one director from each subdistrict. But when there is an even<br />

3 number <strong>of</strong> subdistricts another member shall be elected at large by<br />

4 all the voters <strong>of</strong> the school township.<br />

5 In all school townships not divided into subdistricts there shall be<br />

6 a board <strong>of</strong> three directors, elected at large on the second Monday <strong>of</strong><br />

-7 March, nineteen hundred twenty-two, one <strong>of</strong> whom shall be elected for<br />

8 one year, one for two years and one for three years. Thereafter on<br />

9 the second Monday <strong>of</strong> March in each year one director shall be elected<br />

10 in said township, who shall hold <strong>of</strong>fice for three years.<br />

SEC. 2562. Financial statement.<br />

[Repealed by 39 G. A., ch. 232, and the three following sections<br />

enacted in lieu there<strong>of</strong>.]<br />

SEC. 2562-al. Publication <strong>of</strong> statement <strong>of</strong> claims paid.<br />

1 In each consolidated district and in each independent city or town<br />

2 school district, the board shall, during the first week <strong>of</strong> July <strong>of</strong> each<br />

3 year, publish, by one insertion in at least one newspaper <strong>of</strong> general<br />

4 circulation within the district, if there is a newspaper published within<br />

5 said district, a statement, verified by the affidavit <strong>of</strong> the secretary <strong>of</strong><br />

6 the board, <strong>of</strong> all claims paid by said board during the preceding year,<br />

7 showing the amount paid, the name <strong>of</strong> the payee, and the purpose for<br />

8 which paid.<br />

SEC. 2562-a2. Publication <strong>of</strong> receipts, disbursements, and estimates.<br />

1 The boards specified in the preceding section shall, two weeks be-<br />

2 fore each annual school election, make a like publication showing:<br />

3 1. A summarized statement <strong>of</strong> the receipts and disbursements <strong>of</strong><br />

4 all funds for the preceding school year, and<br />

5 2. A detailed estimate <strong>of</strong> the several amounts necessary to main-<br />

6 tain the school in such district during the next succeeding school year.<br />
